So me and my boyfriend have been trying to have sex for over a month now. I was a virgin up until then. I was always told it would hurt for a little bit and eventually it would get better but after SEVERAL times (10-20) it still hurts just as bad as the first time. Some days its manageable but others it hurts so much that in less than a minute we stop. We use lube because it hurts so much that its impossible to stay wet and tried sever different positions to find if any of them make it hurt less. I don't believe this is normal and we have no clue what to do. What can we do? What has to be done?

Hi there

When a girl looses her virginity - a thin membrane known as hymen tears off during penetration. This causes a girl to bleed and some pain. Some girls feel more, while feel nothing at all. Moreover when this tears off, it still is a tissue that may take some time to heal and sex can be comfortable later.

As for poor lubrication, please spend more time during foreplay and allow penetration ONLY when you are sufficiently wet down there. Learn to refuse penetration if it is painful - sex is meant to be pleassurable. As for added lubrication - try other brands. But, please try foreplay to get naturally lubricated. Good luck

We do plenty of foreplay and getting wet has never been a problem it was always staying wet when it hurt. When we first had sex I did not bleed which i thought was due to my years of being a dancer breaking breaking my hymen as it did with a few of my friends.
