I had a hemorrhoid banded yesterday. No anesthesia. No pain meds. The procedure literally took less than a minute and was a strange and uncomfortable sensation but didn't hurt per se. My hemorrhoid wasn't painful before just looked gross and sometimes bled and itched. Right after my appointment I felt like I needed to poop. Thought maybe I just felt like I needed to but I actually did. It didn't hurt to go. No blood. I was told that I would be uncomfortable for the night and should sit around and take a bath. Was told Tylenol would ease the pain. I took 800 mg and it did nothing. I felt like I had period cramps but twice as bad. My vagina actually felt like it was sore and full too. My lower back felt like it might break in half. I barely was able to sleep and standing was the most comfortable position I found. Today I didn't go to work. I am exhausted and can't sit still. My butt hasn't hurt at all, just my pelvic area and low back. A heating pad helped slightly but only while being used. Then back to being uncomfortable. Think it's funny that Drs seem to think going back to work today should have been possible. Yet no one on here has sounded like they had that experience. I also keep feeling like I need to go to the bathroom. Sometimes I do go and other times I don't. I go back for a re-check in 6 weeks. Hoping by tonight I feel loads better. Good luck.
Be careful of some pain medications, Ibrufen made me constipated & made a bad problem worse.
Tesco Lamb hotpots are really great to make you go!
Not sure why though.....

I had colonoscopy and had 2 bandings. I continued to bleed every BM. I couldn't sit up for almost 2 weeks and felt extremely uncomfortable as I felt as though I constantly wanted to have a BM. I am still bleeding 3 weeks later. I've only had maybe 3 days when I haven't bled. Have been on iron tablets with laxatives but I am now being refered back to the hospital and have been told to stop laxatives. Really couldn't go through this again. I have ibs and at present have iron deficiency anemia.
So this morning I had my second treatment of banding. About 10 hours ago. I'm in so much pain. This is horrible. And kills to have a bowel movement. I'm beside myself, I have anxiety, burning, pain, discomfort. When will this end. I don't know what else to do. Any suggestions. I've been constantly cleaning there area and apply which hazel or recital care. I pray this gets better soon
Take a tylenol. Good heavens.
Had two banded almost one month ago and it was worth it.
Post procedure, I felt fullness like I needed to have a b.m., some dull ache and the constant need to pee.
Any b.m. was un comfortable so I stuck with liquid meals.
Warm sitz baths helped and were frequent.
Going back tomorrow for the third and what's left of the last large one which the dr. Banded in half because it was almost a stage 4.
If you delay too long, you're headed towards surgery and this procedure is much much safer than getting cut.
I didn't bleed much, if at all and I couldn't tell when they fell off.
If your immune system is compromised for any reason or you have diabetes, then this procedure might not be for you

They're suppose to come out together I believe
Had three hemorrhoids banded during a six week period, along with a small fissure, colonoscopy, and 10 polyps removed. Last banding just under a week ago. Had all three banded in doctors office with no anesthesia. Procedure was uncomfortable but not painfull. Stopped bleeding or spotting a couple of days ago. Still have stinging and burning after BM. But compared to the discomfort the hemorrhoids gave me this is a vast improvement. My Dr. said all pain should be gone in 4-6 weeks. Good luck to all cause this is a rough thing to work through. And make should to change your diet. It made a big difference for me.
Hi
3 days ago which was Wednesday I had the rubber band procedure done on two internal haemmeroids and I had a skin tag outside anal area I had excision done it on so had dissolveable stitches and I'm very sore at the moment. I caught my stitch when wiping myself yesterday but it didn't bleed so I patted my anal area and little bit of blood was on the toilet paper not very much just like a little nose bleed type of blood on the paper. I've not been able to have a bowel movement I'm too scared to go but gonna try senekot to see if that it'll help me go anyone got any tips? I had all this done by general anaesthetic

I am Teresa, and whoever says that Internal Hemorroid Banding is painless is a liar! I had 2 banded today and have been in constant pain ever since. I have tried sitz baths, Tyelenol, hydrocortizone cream on the outside of my rectum, lidicane on outside of rectum, which helped a little for a few minutes, but I find this is almost unbearable constant pain. Can anyone reccomend anything to help? I have Percocet but don"t want to use this due to constipation. I am drinking prune juice and taking benefiber. Now i am trying ice pack. Still in pain. Suggestions are welcome.
Its been 16 days since my banding still spotting My docter said its normal I have no pain
Hi. I had surgery a week ago found I had 4 large internal piles .I'm on pain killers and only been toilet once since I had it done and nearly passed out taking 2 laxatives a day to help me .got a heavy feeling all the time like my bottoms going to fall out .I know it takes time to heal carnt wait I been terrible for 2 years so little longer wait
I also had 3 hemriods done, no real pain it's been 3 days after. Bn the itch is driving me crazy as it was before procedure.
I am 2 weeks into have one hemmoroid banded - horrible - I seem to have more pain now than before. Good luck to you. Maybe we can both find the right doctor. I was told to do the banding because having hemmoroid surgery was awful in recovery....not a fan of colon and rectal doctors right now.
