''I always booze'' that had me in stitches lmao :-D
please do have a look on the half life of the antibiotics.if alcohol acts as a competetive inhibitor for the antibiotics, its true that it will be in the body but its activity will decrease with time as all antibiotics have a fixed half life.
To all who are stating that drinking alcoholic beverages while under a regiment of antibiotics are ridiculous! 1) The fact that some of you drink alcohol while sick and on antibiotics, have a much bigger problem than being sick. Why you ask? Because if your sick enough to need antibiotics which means your obviously not feeling well, why would you drink? Sounds to me that you have a problem with alcohol. 2) Alcohol counter acts with antibiotics. If you got lucky and for some reason this did not effect you that does not mean you should go around and tell people who are really trying to get better, that it is okay to take alcohol with antibiotics. Keep it to your self if you want to be irresponsible!
Once I took 2 antibiotics, 2 beers and a shoot of tequila. The morning after, when I woke up I could hear the bells from my local church ringing (was not Sunday), and I could feel the bed shaking and jumping up and down. Please avoid antibiotics mix with been and tequila but it is ok with brandy and no problem at all with double wiskeys.
yes it takes longer to metabolise them like you say, however drinking alcohol DOES decrease the effectiveness of the antibiotic. Also, due to it being in your system for longer you are more likely to experience side effects and they are likely to be more severe. The amount alcohol effects the efficacy of the antibiotic or the frequency of symptoms varies from drug to drug however it is generally sensible to NOT drink while on antibiotics or if you do then to only consume small amounts.
Utter rubbish! There are only a very few anti-biotics that should not be taken with alcohol and then only due to an increase in side affects such as nausea and headaches.
If you don't know what you're talking asbout please refrain from posting on the internet., The internet is a valuable tool for the ignorant to learn, it should bot be used by the ignorant to spread falsehood, gossip and misleading drivel.
alcohol > antibiotics
You are correct....There are some antibiotics that you should not mix alcohol with because of factors like increased heart rate, sever headaches, upset stomach, ect. However, your common antibiotics are fine! You should however take them separate and allow the antibiotic to absorb into your system before drinking! I agree with you about people spreading the rumors and myths without checking facts!
nice 1 thanks for info
I'm on Sulfameth+Trimeth (generic for Septra) to treat MRSA. I wanna drink a couple of beers on the day of my last dose. Does anyone know how long we have to wait before we can consume alcohol after a cycle of antibiotics? Thanks
even the orange has got alcohol. there is no problem if you do not change the amount you drink everyday.

There's tons of information online about this topic. Most doctors will tell you 90 percent of antibiotics have no interactions with alcohol nor is their effectiveness lessened if you drink while taking them. There are a few which can cause side effects and of course it's always smart to read the drug facts that come with your prescriptions and ask the pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns.
How bout some common sense. If you've got a serious illness or situation where a doctor is hoping that his or her dosage of antibiotics will help you recover then HEY YOU...WAKE TF UP AND DON'T GO OUT DRINKING!
If your situation is minor then go party but seriously...if you have to ask me how many beers are allowed...come on.
If your amount of beers is in the double digits then try this. When you're on your 23rd beer call your doctor's office and tell them so at least the doctor knows about it instead of making him or her try and guess why the hell their plan is not working.
