Chrono- I am having my gall bladder removed tomorrow. I have done a bunch of research and it sounds like many do not realize that after GB removal you have to alter your diet and lower your fat. Also allergies and thyroid issues can cause gall bladder issues. You sound like your having thyroid issues with your metabolism. Please have a blood test for that too. It is quite possible your thyroid caused your gall bladder problem. Me, I am the typical fair, fat, fifty, female and fertile patient. I hope this helps but I go into it realizing I have to make changes in my diet and life style. I hope this helps.
my gall bladder has been removed
Thank you. Very helpful.
Hello Sandra. I also had those very LOUD moments and intestinal pain on both sides. Turned out to be h.pylori bacteria. Quick blood test can tell, two weeks of treatment later, years of problems were gone.
Hi my name is kay n I've been having tummy issue with it being bloated like I'm 5 months pregnant. I don't hurt all the time but I do have pain that flares up n have to go to the ER . They said I had a blockage in my upper intestines but they didn't know exactly what it was. Can this be an issue with my gallbladder as well ? Thank you kay
Hey there, Kay.
The gallbladder acts as a gateway between your liver and stomach. It basically controls the flow of bile for digestion. If its not releasing the bile, food doesn't digest as well. This in turn can cause indigestion and other issues.
One other thing it could be is irritable bowel syndrome. Typically that's a psychosomatic disorder that causes tons of issues. If you have really high stress or anxiety issues, they may be part of it.
Ultimately, it's hard to say what it is over the internet but if you haven't had an endoscopy done, I would recommend it.
I have heavy bloating that is uncomfortable until I lay down, then it's just...bearable. A few months ago they told me my gallbladder was working at 11%. I didn't get it removed because I believed the issue was caused by my anxiety and stress levels. I switched meds back to what I was on months prior (long story) and it got better immediately. Like, the next day. I love 55 pounds and couldn't eat anything except maybe a boiled egg or two per day and maybe some broth.
The next day I could eat like normal. It was insane and that's what made me believe it was my mental health causing the issue.
Anywho. Good luck, ask your doctor questions. If you don't feel good, and your doctor isn't helping, find a different doctor.
The medical field is called a practice for a reason, so not all doctors know everything.
Good luck!

I have just been diagnosed with multiple gallstones, I'm on surgery waitin list and also suffer from swelling around the stomach and chest, the pain is excruciating to the point of it dropping me to my knees. So I'm also wondering if the swelling is a symptom that comes with gallstones. Thank you
Two Doctors that are denieing me my old pain relivers and want me to take Suboxone has dismissed bloating that has cracked my ribs and sternum. I had to pitch a fit to get a ct scan yet what I am reading tells me I need to be in the moment of the attack for anything to be found that way.
I asked for MRI or Ultra Sound but was denied. I was allowed to suffer for two weeks before getting a blood test that was scaled down and now three weeks to be aproved for a CT that will likley show nothing. 1 attack lasted a few hours, 2nd 6 hours, 3rd half the nite and the last for 10 days.
He is suposed to be a concierge doctor but is not acting like one.

I had an ultrasound back in October, no stones but the pain continues.
