Its beeen a month and 9 days ... Im no where near 80% but I'm doing fine. The longer it is the slower the healing becomes you heal the most in the first month than a great deal in the following two months and I believe the rest is slow gains in the last 3 months (total 6 months). 100% would be no fear take on the world...

Yeah, that's totally what my previous experience has been with other people quitting heavy pot use. How are you doing? It's been almost a week since you last posted and I think it would be helpful to know how you're doing. Thanks!

HEy HEalthfitnesguy you are a true helper of the people!!! I'm doing good up and down here and there allot of the way i feel revolves around eating when I dont eat I get really anxious. Other than that things are good I was at the dentist no problem, Ive been at the gym hard this week, and just baught a new cart hehe so things have beeen going my way. I'm gonna stick with it this time and at the 6 month post I'm gonna come back here to post how I feel. I might have some other underlying cause for some of this anxiety but im hoping its just the withdrawal process and the neurotransimiters in my brain healing, apparantley thats whats taking so long. Thank for checking up .. I wonder how Jimmy's doing

Hey Jimmy glad to hear you're doing great, I'm on my way there too. If you do a basic search on anadamide which is the bodies on THC you will read up on CB1 and CB2 cannibanoid receptors in the brain. Theres allot that they know and allot that they dont one things forsure these receptors are scattered accross the brain and some parts of the body. THC found in Cannabis is chemical in an almost perfect shape as the nerutransmittor chemical anadamide that the body produces, everytime you smoke THC squeezes in to these receptors and at the same time damages them, the bad thngs is the brain cant heal the damaged receptors the good thing is it can creat new ones so I"m thinking the reasons its taking so long is that. I'm also thinking that while isnt that addictive it can mess around with the brain in select few like us. KEep us posted on how you feel

THe first attack was while I was smoking allot! Never had attacks before smoking. After I quite the anxiety went up allot but its slowly coming down I'm on day 45. I'm at the point where I can function normally but I dont feel 100% that takes months! at least 6

I think six is sort of the upper limit as to how long it will take you to feeling back to 100%. Really, my experience has been that three months is the period of time. Maybe it is a little longer, but just think back to how well you're doing after that first week! What makes you think it'll be six months?

If this were a physical withdrawal type thing I would agree with you 100% after three months ther is no physical need to have THC. For those who dont have panic attacks or anxiety from this after three months there good to go. But were different we dont feel like we need to smoke our problem is anxiety its a problem with the brain and that takes allot longer to heal. I read somewhere that the brain takes at least 9 months to rebuild.

That's really interesting. I had severe GAD, but it only took me about six months to heal. Do you know where you read that? I mean, I think it takes you however long it takes you. Maybe I got over it faster for some reason.

How did you develop GAD and what methods did you use to get over it? Its interesiting to know :-) One more thing you said you healed after 6 months with that being said you felt better. Some people feel better after three months I think healing and feeling are two different things. SO you might have been feeling great by 6 months and yet stil not fully healed.

I think I understand what your'e saying now. Perhaps you're right--it may have taken me nine months to be totally back to normal but I certainly felt pretty awesome after six. As for developing GAD, I was worried about having skin cancer and it just developed into this general fear that overtook me. I couldn't even go to meetings at work after awhile. As for getting over it, I quit caffeine and went to therapy and did some CBT work. Have you tried any of that?

Yeah I read a couple books on anxiety and panic away. I've tried doing the tea-charts which i think are good for that final push to complete sanity. IT's crazy how a simple fear can turn into a full blown mental disorder! I'm at one month and three weeks and feeling damn good. But now its going from a GAD to more like a OCD hehe so i still got a few more months till I can report back here. Whats not so funny is how many posts here I ready of people getting anxiety and panic attack from weed there's definatey a strong correlation between the two. BTW Caffiene makes me edgy andyouneed to quit that when getting over anxiety forsure! JIMMY how you doin?

YOU FEEL ANXIETY BECAUSE YOU STOPPED SMOKING BLUNTS!!!! blunts = tobacco= nicotine. You are mistaking the physiological symptons of nicotine withdrawal with the psychological symptoms of marijuana cessation.
