i have the same thing. Tjey are myofacial knots.you can massage them out. it may be painful to do this .just go slow and have them work or massage gently and keep going into a deep tissue massage at a speed you can tolerate and still breathe. I have found much relief through massage.

Hi, I feel the knot feeling on my left side. I do go to my yearly check ups and reported to my doctor last year and she send me to have a Rib xray because of previous car accident she thought might be a broken rib but xray came negative. This year I talk to her about it again so I finally got an abdomen ultrasound. She gave me a couple of reasons now that broken rib is out. 1. Muscle problem, 2. Hernia we left fatty liver out cause liver is in the right my pain is in the left. I personally think could be accumulated fatty tissue I am as much I hate to say 100lbs over weight . Anyways I do feel release to hear this is not just in my head and that there are others that had experienced this. I am sorry none of have not find the reason and how to cure , or fix nor avoid. take care and keep digging. God Bless

Thank you for your information.... I have had this same thing for some time now... I have had a abdominal ultrasound to rule things out and it did give me some peace of mind..... All organs were fine.... I have definitely noticed more stomach related aches and pains since gaining visceral weight this year..... Hoping with some weight loss and less worry about it, it will be less frequent....

I get this and it's really painful only when I bend over and its hard to breath - has anyone found out why and if there are any long lasting implications.

I feel the knotting/tightening up under my left lower rib, it feels like something is moving inside but you can't see anything from the outside. I had a CT scan done to see if I had a hernia and the doctor didn't see anything strange in the spot I was feeling it. I only feel it every once in a while when I bend over to rub lotion on my legs or scrunch my body up to put socks on, it only lasts about 10 seconds but it hurts!

Sounds like a diaphragmatic hernia. I'd get it checked by your doctor.

I was in a car accident and I went to hospital. I had a ultrasound and X-ray and they said I had a bruised rib, a bruised intestine and that I should go home and rest. Next day the doctor called and said come back to hospital and have imaging done again. I waited for a week and now I am still in tremendous pain on my right side. It feels like my intestines are caught in my rib cage. I haven’t had a bowel movement in a week and a half and I’m preparing to go back to the hospital for more imaging. I am in fear of what I might hear. I can’t sleep, breathe, eat, walk, talk, sit, or live for that matter. It’s impossible to do anything without unbearable pain. I can’t imagine what could cause this horrible experience.
