I have a similar experience. Went to the VA... they said "it'll go away". And actually this is FALSE. Once they get so clotted, they are almost solid and will not self resolve and if part of them break free they cause more risk than from lancing it.. after I went home and waited for it to "just go away"... I was at work one day and the EXCRUTIATING PAIN lessened perceptibly... next trip to the bathroom I observed that it had RUPTURED ON ITS OWN.
And now I just do it my self once it gets engorged enough to be easy to make the incision. This is not be cause I'm stupid. It's because doctors are. No one is evaluating the quality of their work besides insurance companies. They are insurance adjusters, not scientists, and they don't care about your health. Never forget this.
I just done mine myself no problem
Well if you are reading this then you must be feeling the pain. If you want it gone right now this is the only fast relief solution. Go to the pharmacy or dollar store and pick up some 99% alcohol, a sharp point scalpel, some neosporin (or equal to it) and some cotton balls. Take a warm shower and clean the area well then dry off. Take a cotton ball soaked in alcohol and clean the scalpel along with the affected area. Take the scalpel and quickly poke the roid.... Dont try to do it slowly it just makes things painful and you may not reach deep enough. You should only penetrate about a quarter of an inch no more than that. After penetration squeeze all blood and colts that will come out. It may seem as though you can't get it all out but don't worry that's just swelling. When you are done take another quick shower to clean up all the blood, dry the area and apply alcohol again then neosporin or similar. You will notice that the pain is now almost gone, give it 24 hours and you are good as new. Just keep applying the neosporin until its gone. Works every time with no complications for me. Good luck!
Thank you so much. This is my 4th week and its better but it still swollen. I just cant take anymore of this pain nor anymore pain killers. The Dr sees me pokes my buns and sends me home and wait for it to go away. When?????? Well, thanks to your post this will be done NOW! Drs can go F themsevles!
Crypticfrog you're a champion!! I did the same thing... twice. I doused the area with alcowipes & smothered Bepanthen and Anusol for about three days & I've never felt better!
BEST REPLY EVER. Couldn't agree more
Wow. It's really weird to read a post like this and then realize it's MY post from several years ago! Gonna have to get out the ol' landing blade again! Damn hemorrhoids!!
I feel the same way. They did not numb the one I had lanced 3years ago. They said, “it’s easier to just lance it. It’s gonna hurt the same to put a needle.” So, quick and simple. Blood clot was completely out. I bled for two days. Not given any meds to take or anything. Just lanced and recovery.
Hi! Was it painful at all after it was lanced and did it bleed for a long time?
