Laser surgery is not recommended for nasal polyps. It is a heat source and dangerous in this area since it is close to the eyes and brain, which you do not want a heat treatment near. Cold instruments only.

I live in toronto, canada. Does anybody know the closest place for LASER SURGERY FOR POLYPS. I went to a CT scan and was recommended a surgery. NO ONE EVER MENTIONED THE POSIBILITY OF A LASER SURGERY.

Hi Karen, did you ever find someone in Canada? I'm looking for laser polyp removal for my dad. He has debilitating sleep apnea due to his polyps but in his own words he would rather die then have the grinding tool polyp removal procedure done again.

There is a new procedure for polyp removal using an instrument called a polypvac which can be purchased from the USA or the UK. It is done in the Dr. S office provided the polyps are not in the sinuses. Talk to your ENT doctor and he will guide you as how to purchase this instrument. You have to purchase it as it can be used only once. I had it done, it took about 35 minutes. The polypvac sells for approx. $350.00 Canadian. Good luck.
