As I said, the condition presents as a squirming sensation, upper abdomen roughly a handspan away from my breast. Sometimes it feels like something inside is twisting. The sensation is often accompanied with bloating, but only on that side.

After there is a deeper inner pain, as though someone has punched me there, or as though the muscle on that side is strained.

Pre-existing conditions prior to/during this one: diabetes type 2. acid reflux. 3 years ago a partial hysterectomy to remove what had been thought to be an ovarian cancer but was not.

Possible causes? : I do sleep on my stomach.

My guesses/fears what this might be: Acites? blockage? parasite?

The doctor says: nothing! I am on Medicaid. The doctor never does anything for me, which is why I rarely bother to go in. She prodded it a little and that was it. This unpleasant sensation bothers me sometimes several times a night for going on 6 months now.

As said I'm not in the medical profession, but the unprofessional way the doctors here handle anything never ceases to annoy me. Had I been a doctor? I'd at least have asked for a stool sample. Scheduled an ultrasound or an upper GI at the very least, if not an endoscopy. If this turns out to be something serious that might have been fixable if they'd got it at this juncture, I am looking to sue a whole health center!
You would probably have received better care if you were on Medicare. Medicaid does not reimburse much to the doctor. Maybe that is why they treated you so poorly. If you had a parasite, it most likely would be the roundworm Ascaris. This can easily be confirmed by examining the stool sample for eggs. If the sensation is on your right upper abdomen, the worm may have entered the bile duct. Contact your county health department for a lab near you.

I agree with what hoseclamps posted. I am sorry that you received such poor care though. Is there any way you can see a different doctor who will treat you a little better so that you can have this issue taken care of? I hate that you are suffering and I want for you to get better so I hope that you can. Please keep us posted!

FINALLY! I have been searching for someone else who has had a similar sensation to my own!!! I am only 26, and just last year I was diagnosed with a prolapsed uterus with a hysterectomy recommended. I began depo provera birth control shortly after giving birth to my daughter and almost immediately after beginning it, I felt the same sensation in my abdomen near my uterus. I stopped the depo because I didn't like it. The sensation never left. It continued for over a year always in the same 2 spots. Finally I went to urgent care and they did a pap and exam and found a lesion on my cervix. It came back inconclusive. But, the sensation still never left. Then in October of last year, I did a self exam to see if I could still feel the lesion and discovered my prolapsed uterus. I am convinced (until proven otherwise) that the depo has caused this sensation and my problems. Please email me with your story as I am set on trying to find the truth.
