I strongly suspect that might be a joke instead of an actual post. I don't think anyone would be able to do that without suffering from some pretty serious mood sings like you say!

Im from Ireland so we kind of have a small tolerance to alcohol over here. Being on lexapro 10mg for 10 day, had a couple last weekend 4 pints on the Friday night and 8 on the Saturday night. It was really odd i got a eurphoric (forgive the spelling) feeling. I was able to feel the affects of the two together after 2 pints

i had been taking lexapro for about 2 years and had never knew there were any affects nor did i ever experience anything having to do with lexapro and alcohol. i took my medication at about 700 and made myself a drink at about 830 of bacardi and sprite well, last thing i remember after my 1 drink was talking at a table with flow to my right and erin mcnally infront of me and john d to my left. then the next thing i know i'm in jail allready processed with only socks and a pair of boxers on and they're unhandcuffing me and telling me to take a shower. needless to say that felt like sh*t i had no idea what the f**k happened and i looked down at my arms and they were both covered in blood, along with both of my legs by my knees. i'm completely sober when i came too but had a monnnnnster headache and it felt like my head was swollen and felt like i had a concussion. i looked in the mirror in jail and saw my eye was swollen, which would later turn into a black eye. by this time i'm FREEAAAKKING OUT cause i don't know what happend why i'm there why i'm all busted up and why i have my first black eye since i was 5 years old. i'm thinking i got in a fight but when i think about the people that were there i didn't have any beef so i figure it was the handy work of HPD. I'm still thinking about how the hell i blacked out after only one drink. i start to think someone slipped something in my drink but i made my own drink and it was in a water bottle so i exed that idea out too. i find out about 3 days later that my mom had read in the paper that Lexapro (what i was prescribed) can cause blackouts when you take them and nyquill and alcohol, (doesn't have to be that day that u take the nyquill) to put it in perspective if u have 1 drink its actually like u had 10!!!! so i spend 45 days in jail with a second felony evading arrest (same thing happened in july but with more memory and no bruising/cuts) and have no idea what really happened, can't talk to people who were there to piece together sh*t, but i finally get to hear the police report.......................... i was goin as fast as my car could go (100 mph but they said i was goin 120 but my car can't go that fast) and i almost caused 3 accidents, almost ran head on into a concrete median, busted my transmission, then the police came to my window, i flick him off and start revving my engine trying to run again (with the busted tranny) and about 4 different police departments have me surrounded with guns drawn and they bust my window with a flashlight (how i got the black eye) and pull me through the window and it took 5 cops to bring me down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....... needless to say i've started reading the bible a lot more in jail and stopped taking Lexapro, am changing medications, and am thankful i didn't get shot by the po pos. i spent 45 days in jail, and eventually my lawyer got the case dismissed.

where to begin...lets see I'm 21 year old female. I have two small children.
I was prescribed lexapro for anxiety. A tree fell on me and my little girl back in aug. every since then
I started having panic attacks. But now I just have bad thoughts and fears im trying to conquer.
The lexapro began working great for me i actually felt good and okay for the first time in months.
Then about 1 week ago i got drunk off my ass off of 2 tall cans of 12% alcohol.
I woke up the next day feeling sick. I threw up all day long. And every since then it seems my medication
stopped working. Im back to having anxiety. and letting my horrible thoughts bother me again.
Has anyone experienced anything like this from drinking alcohol with lexapro? and if so did their medication start working again?
I just want to feel good again. Thanks!!

I take Lexapro 10mg and every single time I drink I get wasted off three beers. I've blacked out almost every single time I've gone out with my friends since taking lexapro. And about the emotional part while you're drunk, me too. I tend to get really upset if my boyfriend says one tiny thing...

Definitely be careful.

I stopped taking Lexapro 5 years ago. Here's the problem. I CAN"T get drunk. I can drink grown men under the table. My words may slur, but I never feel any buzz at all. I also don't feel the effects of Nitrous Oxide at the dentist. I thought he forgot to turn it on. He gave me a prescription for codeine after an extraction. It could''ve been Tylenol for all I know. I'm so frustrated. Now that I don't take anything for anxiouty or depression, it would sure be nice to be able to catch a buzz to take the edge off once in a while! Everyone else can get faded, why can't I??? lol I don't know that it's related, but what else could it be? I haven't built a tolerance. I hadn't had Nitrous ever before and I've only had codeine a couple times in my life.

I take 15 mg of Lex daily due to an anxiety disorder. I have NEVER blacked out while drinking until I started taking Lexapro. I am a male 5'9" 195lbs with an above average alcohol tolerance. Well, I had this level of tolerance until I started taking Lex. Before Lex, no matter how much I drank, even up to 10-12 drinks, I was still aware of my surroundings. However, now if I have about 5 drinks, I feel wasted and have blacked out several times without warning. One minute, I am feeling great and then the next minute it is the next morning. The scariest part is that people tell me that I continue to function, converse, eat and drink although I don't remember any of it the next day. I have also vomited and not known it until someone told me the next morning. I used to take Paxil in the past, but the blackouts did not happen while taking that med. If you choose to drink while on this med, please, please be careful.

I don't drink often, but when I do the lexapro has no effect at all, I definitely don't black out. If anything, I can intake more alcohol with my lexapro now. The only issue is that I sober up fast and the hang over is more severe. I also have a friend who's on lexapro and has a bit of an alcohol problem. She's probably counter acting the effects of her meds, but she never gets sick or anything from the actually combination of the two. I would also like to add that she doesn't black out either, even drinking till passing out, she knows what happened.. Just play it safe and don't drink too much! Alcohol is best enjoyed in good company and in moderation.

I have been one of the unlucky ones. I used to be the last one with a drink in my hand and I am 32 5'5" 160 lbs. I would drink Redbull Vodka, Long Islands, jager bombs all night!!! Since starting the Lexapro I went to the river with some friends, had Rb & V, etc... just ONE and then a shot of Tequila (which I usually DO NOT drink) and started acting REALLY crazy and doing strip teases etc... WELL, I remember NONE of it!! (Have not been invited to the shin digs with them again since, some friends huh?)

I thought NOTHING of the med mix with alcohol! Continued to take Lexapro and a few months later a different group of friends and I went to a bd party. I had a couple of jello shots at the house and a shot of again Tequila (yuck, nasty stuff) got into the limo with the girls and headed to the club had a few drinks on the way ( I was the bartender in the limo even, I wasn't even affected yet!!) Got to the club went upstairs and I remember looking over the balcony and a guard and I having an argument.... Thats it! It was around 11 and I apparently got up on the bar and started dancing with the girls and then turned around and BIT one of them on the butt! I NEVVVVVER act like this!!!

The next morning I woke up at home with a bucket beside the bed and a cool towel wrapped around my head and my clothes had been changed and I looked over and my husband was next to me. (he works nights through the morning) They apparently called my husband around 11 to come and get me cause I passed out puking and I remember nothing after the guard argument. FINALLY, I thougth what the heck was wrong with me. THEN I put two and two together and NOW I know there is no drinking AT ALL with Lexapro. I have even quit drinking because the smell of the alcohol makes me wanna puke!!!

So it will affect every person differently!

Just wanted to describe me own experience, I'm no doctor but know meds very well...through different means. My doctor put me on Lexapro 4 days ago,5mg.said it PREFERRABLY not to dronk with it.I upped the dose to 20mg a day cos have to go to work in 4 days and should ther be any side effects, which are quite common with anties, wanted to know all bout it before I rock up to work stoned outa me mind.In three days I was chasing them lexos with about couple of beers and a can of sider with good meal. Not a bother on me, no blackouts, memory is fine, speech is fine.Even managed to fix my laptop that was lying in bits for a month cos I was too depresse to get around fixing it.Dunno but it looks that if one doesnt go overboard with alcho he should be fine.

I was taking lexapro for 2 years and drank appx 2 glasses of wine a night. I never felt any dizzyness or side effects BUT when I had my annual check up my liver was inflammed! I strongly believe it was the mix of the 2 that did it, the doctor told me it could have done permanant damage.

In my case I had to reduce the alcohol to just a couple of beers or a scotch when I am partying. I used to drink much more at parties with just mild hangovers the following morning. After starting Lexapro I noticed I get buzzed faster and the following morning the hangover is horrible. Headache and dehydrated all day long; I decided it wasn't worth it. I honestly think that Lexapro (and my wife of course) saved my life. Giving up alcohol for a radical change in the way I was feeling about me and life in general is nothing!

hi, i am on 10 mg of cipralex the canadian brand of lexapro.  prescribed for some anxiety and depression.  im 40, 6' 185lbs.  i am always the last one standing at parties, easily able to consume alcohol all night, sure hangovers ensue but thats not the issue.

recentally i was camping, nite one, 12-15 beers, got to be about 11 pm, very fatigued, went to bed.

nite 2 another 12 - 15 beer plus a vodka or two (this all over the course of the day from noon) again, 11 or so, super tired, not hammered drunk

nite three one double ceaser, one double vodka and cider, two beer, one margarita its 7 pm or so, im dizzy, i lie down, i wake up at 4 am wide awake, stone sober convinced someone slipped me something.  restlees all night, wake at 8 am, not a stitch of a hangover, remember everything.

since then it appears that i get quite buzzed off 4 - 6 drinks.  its like a double effect, one beer = 2.  i havent drank hard  drinks again yet.  like alot of people say, it effects everyone different.  be careful is the general warning and it should be well heeded.

I have been on lexaprofor 3 months now. It is helping with the depression. I am not an everyday drinker. But I had a nice weekend with my fiancee recently..all was wll hanging out at the beach and having a coupke of rum punches. All was well. But the day ended badle with us having an argument. I can not remember what it was about or how it started. I had a blackout. This is no good. When he started telling me what happened that night I really freaked out that I had no memory of it. Alsoit appeared that my personality changed.
I do not like the fact that I dont recall and had no control.
So my advice is...yes you can have SOME but limit this and prevent what happened to me.
