I had the surgery and work at a store where there are bright lights. What you should try is don't wear sunglasses in the store. The edges of the new lens is what is reflecting the light and making it seem really bright. You have to adjust to the bright light. I do where sunglasses outside and when the sky is overcast with white clouds.
Cataract surgery is a simple operation where a surgeon removes the eye's clouded natural lens and replaces it with an artificial, lens and patients can usually return to their normal activities following day, but in your case there must be some error. Please consult a eye surgeon as soon as possible.
Please consult a good eye surgeon immediately

I had my cataracts done 8 weeks ago & find any light ,computer, phone ,tv, cant drive ,was also told to use tear drops (jell ) but still the same .
I have the same issue and am completely frustrated. My vision is good post-op but I have constant distortion and vertigo (very light blue eyes, also). What kind of specialist determined the iris issue? Any help would be appreciated
I have had a prolapsed iris during lens replacement surgery and have extreme light sensitivity. Can you tell me if you 've had any help or surgery with your problem? I hope you are well now .
Thanks for the info will surely try them..Walgreens?
My ophthalmologist told me to apply a warm/hot wash cloth to my eyes for one minute and then to "scrub" back and forth across the lower lashes using the washcloth. This is to "unclog" the lacrimal glands. Some people use Johnson's Baby Shampoo on the washcloth. I do not. It seems to be working for me. I also use a warm, gel eye mask that I heat for 11 seconds in the microwave. (Purchased from amazon) Drops are not the answer.
I also have the glare and light sensitivity especially in stores. I went back to the surgeon and they gave me steroid drops which hasn't helped. My optometrist said that my astigmatism got worse after the surgery and that putting me in glasses may help with the glare because I don't have distance vision now. I saw better before the surgery than I do now. Very frustrating!!!
Unless you really need it, don't! I had both eyes done same day 3 weeks ago and surgery was a breeze. It's all the problems post-op! Flickering light from the edges of the implants, distortion caused by the implants, dry eye, eye pain and very sensitive to light. So unless your vision is really impaired from the Cataracts ask your doctor if you can wait.
I too have the flickering light reflecting off the edges of the lens implants and it drives me crazy. If in a brightly lit room and I move my eyes from side to side this distortion is horrible. The doctor says it might go away in time but that about 3% of all cataract surgery patients have this issue and may have it for ever. Also very sensitive to light and my eyes still ache and I feel like I have sand or something in them. Miserable!!!
Get the surgery. Pain free. I was a little nervous, but after the easy surgery, I went right back to get the second eye done. So glad I went.
I have severe glare after both cataract and lasik surgery. Diagnosed with dry eyes which I never suffered from before. My vision is excellent but glare makes reading very uncomfortable. Eyes feel somewhat sore.
I had left cataract and 2nd about ayear lateralso have plenty problems with light. Both lenes have been lasered, with no help.
I was advise to get scription glasses. Big waste of money.
Being so frustrated, I saw another optometrist, glasses are bettter, but not solving unclear vision. After 2 months went back to see him. A trainee was on duty, and she disvovered the iris was damaged by surgery alowng too much light into eyes. I
to surgeon with this info, still no better.
I went back to optometrist and enquired if color lenses would help reduce light, tried them for two days. Sadly they didn't help..so it seems I must live with blurred vision. Maureen
