Sunglasses imperative for outdoors. Even if it's cloudy, I can tell when my eyes are sensitive to outdoor light. Not indoors. The ONLY lucky thing about my cataract surgery! Wish I had my old eyesight and glasses back.............
Just like I bought five pair of reading glasses -- for each room in the house -- since the cataract surgery, I also have different shades of sunglasses (the dollar store glasses)! If we don't figure out for ourselves how to accommodate these problems, who will? My ophthalmologist is too busy or not listening to give me good answers to my questions. (Very disappointed about the whole thing. Only thing I was told before surgery is "you will see better!" Matter of opinion.)
The patient doesn't know what to ASK, and the doctor doesn't explain or tell us anything but "you will see better!" It's a scam; surgery takes 5 minutes, and there are a dozen more patients in the waiting room!
If you see ok, don't have the surgery! I did and now the light sensitivity is unbelievable. I have new glasses with all the bells and whistles but I wear those dark wraparound glasses received at the optometrist and still can't see thru the massive brightness. I wish I still had the cataracts!
I'm going through the same thing. it's been almost 6wks. my surgeon says that he sees nothing wrong. he acted like he never heard of this problem; said it must be me and I'll have to "adjust"!! that's bull. he's got a great reputation and should know better. now i have to find someone better!
Another thought: .. I had the same problem six weeks after surgery and my doctor said that the prednisone treatment needed to be longer for me and some others too. Artificial tears did not help. She told me to use the prednisone drops twice a day for another week and then once a day for one more week and my eye should be healed from the inflammation. Hope this helps!
Yes!!! And it is scary!? I can hardly hold my eyes open yo drive!! Does it get better?
