I used to have these symptoms some 5 years ago, however no longer have them. All tests by Doctor/hospital came back with no issues. I now think it relates to one or two issues. First is posture and the strain put on the next through bad posture (I suffered bad headaches also related to this), the second is that I found extended times at my desk concentrating meant I was staring too much at my screen, this caused me to A) not blink as much as I should and B) my breathing to become more shallow so I wasn't getting enough oxygen. I think the latter is a big reason because when I became aware of the breathing, I got up moved around and took deep breaths and then the symptoms subsided, now it never happens.

Kind of good to know I'm not the only one. I never had this issue until I got into jobs where I sit at the computer all day. I've never thought this was a healthy thing and tried my best to get up and move around, but was unable to do to work load and pressure from managers. I think this needs to be researched more. I don't think humans were made to sit at a desk all day and stare for hours on end into a computer screen. It got worse over the years, but I finally started putting 2 and 2 together and realized I was spending wayyy to much time on computers, tablets, cell phones, and TV. A good balance seemed to help me. But I agree with those who say it has to do with nerves and posture. It makes total sense. How many have perfect posture all day every day? Now add 40+ hours a week sitting hunched over for months and years...it will absolutely have an affect on your health. Keep active or find another line of work.

I have had exactly the same symptoms around noon at work and i was sort of worried. I had the lightheaded feeling when you were in front of the screen for hours. i went to see a neurologist and he said i was fine. i had my blood pressure checked it was normal. so it had to do with spine/neck stance at work.

I started getting this some weeks ago and i am really getting anxious about this. Not to mention the fact that in my family, men are susceptible to get heart diseases and i was thinking if that could be it, since my left side gets that strange numbness feeling or sometimes painful (but not that much). But when i'm reading all of these testimonials, i'm guessing it's something to do with the spine, since we all have that feeling only when sitting in front of the computer. From where i am, i seriously don't know where i can get help to fix this.

I have also experienced these symptoms several times now, while sitting down in a lecture at university, I start to feel light headed, warm, shaky, and a bit tingly and it slowly progresses and gets worse. If I get up and walk, it very quickly dissipates, but will also come back just as quickly when I sit back down.

This is very disturbing.

I will try some of the tips found on this thread and report back.

Chiropractors are literally useless. If you pay money to get one of those hacks to potentially cause irreparable damage to your spinal column, you're grossly misinformed.

I had this. Lasted for about a year and then went away. I almost fainted twice at work. Been to all kinds of doctors and nobody could really tell what it was. Only speculations.

Thank you for this post even though it is from a long time ago. This just started happening to me and it is super scary and like others--I start panicking which then brings up the heart rate and makes everything worse. My lower back is hurting and my neck is stiff so I am now suspecting some sort of pinched nerve. It is ALWAYS while at my desk sitting and always after some sort of caffeinated drink on an empty stomach. Now in caffeine withdrawals but the same symptoms. Docs aren't worried all tests of every sort have been done. I may get to the chiropractor but need someone to drive me home in case for a while it makes things worse. I thought I was losing my mind and docs kind of made it sound like a panic attack which could not be the case because I was sitting at my desk having a great time on FB. I know what a panic attack feels like and the only time I panic is when it keeps on happening!

It took you 4 years to resolve... So glad you nailed it down. Would you mind sharing what the solution was?

Hi there, Glad you got to nail your problem down. :)

Mind sharing what your solution was, and what kind of diagnosis were you given?

Thank you!

I'm 45 and this exact thing has been happening to me for the past two weeks. Including the blood pressure being slightly high systolic pressure. 131/66
My oxygen level is good 99-98% and resting pulse is 75.
Its only when i'm sitting at my computer desk at work. I have had a little episode at home when closing my eyes to sleep.

I don't think the doctor is going to help until something more pronounce happens but it's very worrying. Which itself isn't helping.

I exercise and don't have any symptoms then either.

The dizzy feeling starts in my head and then travels to my legs and feet like I'm going to faint.

Same thing happened to me 3 years ago. I am software developer and used to work 12 hours a day that time.
Don't know why my little finger of left hand get numbed for a reason. and some tringlling on left arm as well. There was no any dizziness, fainting feeling. I searched on the internet and found many reasons including heart issue. I went to doctor and doctor says its not a heart problem but related to sitting style.
But it sometime raise in mind why sitting posture can do it which I finally know but too late when this thing printed on mind and caused to add health anxiety in my life.

Well, Now I am feeling something strange like when walking, exercise. All good but when I sitting on PC and have no clear work to do then I feel strange like sleepiness and strange feeling on skin of chest. But when I get busy, nothing appears.

I discussed it with doctor he only say its related to thinking and sedentary lifestyle. I have blood test many times and hundreds of time BP check. All is ok.

I am taking syrup for energy as well to overcome it.

For me, its worst thing ever in my life I get due to google searching about symptoms.

You get wave type feeling, I got this as well when I was having panic attack. It was all fear which settled in mind. You will be amazed, I can think to get this wave feeling again from foot to chest. My mind is so much involved in it.

I think, its mind evilness. We should avoid such thoughts and google searching.
