Liver abscess may be caused by appendicitis or diverticulitis. The most common infective agents are Escherichia coli, enterococ, klebsiella, staph or streptococcus. Abdominal pain, located upper right may be symptom of liver abscess. Other symptoms are fever, nausea, yellow skin, chalk-colored stool, dark urine etc. Prolonged antibiotic therapy is needed in treatment of liver abscess. Complication may be development of sepsis.
