I used to be on the pill, then I stopped for a few months. I had unprotected sex, but he didn't ejaculate within a few days after my period last month. I've never kept track of my cycle but I thought I was late. But then I started bleeding @ 5 weeks (which I'm pretty sure is my normal cycle off pill) but it wasn't enough to fill a tampon for about a week and it was mostly the brown old blood (TMI, i know). Well now a week after all that started I'm getting something that's very similar to a regular period... heavier (still not a full one but heavier than it had been) and regular period blood. I've taken 3 preg tests (because i was paranoid) and they've all come up negative. Oh yeah, and the day after I started seeing a "period" (about a week ago) I started up on the pill again.
Anyway, any ideas as to why my period is so long? Was I merely spotting before and now my real period is finally here? (I'm having a hard time understanding exactly what spotting is ... I think mine was heavier than spotting).

Sorry I know this was long but thanks!
I was off my birth control for a year then started having the old brown blood stuff too then the heavier bleeding and I went to the doctors and got a blood test and they have to send me to the gynos to get a sonogram of my vagina. But it has been a week and I have heard nothing back so I do not know what's up. But I am having pretty much the same exact problem as you except I have been on it for am month starting may 26th. I started my birth control again around May first.
