I have noticed that the stomach growls happen much more when I'm thinking about them and hoping they won't be so loud. It always seems to happen when I'm in class, at work, or most embarrassing when I'm on a date! It'll happen right after dinner, or even if I'm sitting on the couch cuddled up with my date watching a movie they get super loud, so I turn up the TV as much as I can so they don't seem so loud to my date. It's so embarrassing, but I've found that when I don't worry about it, or even think about it happening, it doesn't happen so often. Think about the number of times it happens when you're by yourself opposed to the number of times it happens when you're around other people...

Hello!
Here's some hope for you all. I myself suffer from IBS and had horrible stomach growling. I couldn't go anywhere quiet. It turns out, it actually went away all by itself. I had it for about a year (no idea why). And I used to come on these forums all the time hoping to find some help. I just realized today that I don't have ANY stomach growling anymore. My diet hasn't changed either.

I am 16 years old and im a sophmore in highschool, this stomach growling i have started during my freshman year in january. I mean it started out of no where, i was always happy when my teacher said we worked in groups or when the class was just loud by its self, because the loud stomach growling would be really so loud like people in the back would ask me after class if i was okay. this thing has taken over my life so much, which is pretty depressing. i would take 2 midols every morning thinking it was a weird cramp thing, it would stop it in the morning the go really loud in the afternoon. summer came and i was relieved, the loud growling noise was getting worse, and my stomach was actually getting bloated and i gained a few pounds. now its the beginning of my sophmore year and on the second day i had to ask to go to the nurse cause it growled so loud during class, i mean REALLY LOUD!! and now its hurts when it growls, i wouldnt feel hungry but i would snack on gold fishies and it would quiet some, then i bought Gax-X and it would quiet it down but didnt really help.
i went to the docters 2 days ago because i couldnt handle it anymore. i mean i even thought of suicide, i would cry everyday because my mom wouldnt listin to me, i even told her during march and it took her 6 months to call the docters finally. well they did some blood test and found out today that i have Helicobactor pylori (H. pylori), its a bactria kind of thing. they proscribed me with PrevPac, im kinda scared of trying it cause i heard some bad symptoms from it , but i also heard some very good ones, that some people even got rid of the growling and felt much better afterwards. i have to take it for 14 days and im starting tomorrow :) i hope it goes away...so u should go to the docters if you havent already. i will let u know after i take the medicene.. i have to take it for 14 days.. :/
well good luck
p.s sorry that its so long i just wanted to talk about it since i havent talked to anybody about it :)

Okay, first off. It's good to know someone eles has these problems. I try to explain this to other people, but they just dont get it. Their like oh your stomach growls, thats normal. NO. This is like my entire stomach is filled with water. It rolls && growls && makes the worst sounds. If i push my stomach out or in to much, it happens. If i roll my stomach,it happens. It's just terrible. This is how it started. I was in 6th grade (12 years old). I got Mono. It was the worst case my doctor had seen. It caused me alot of issues. It caused me acid reflux, which i still suffer from today && also it caused be to go extended periods with no bowl movements. I had to be hospitalized and have a tube stuck down my nose, into my stomach, to diposit laxatives. I finally had a bowl movement 12 hours later! so to make a long story short ,i started getting better. Then I started noticing this. I went a year after mono doing okay. I still had acid reful, and was diagnosed with IBS, but I still was better. Then freshman year this got bad. It's like all the time i just have this uncontrolable force in my stomach. Im not hungry when it happens, i dont know what it is. I have noticed it happens more after i drink milk, but I am 16 and ave drank a TON of milk my whole life. I can go througha gallon in 2 days so I don't see how I could suddenly become lactose intolerant. Please help and reply. If you have any story similar to this please ,share. I need to know if this is normal or if it could be a real health issue. I mean i know its not normal, but if its a normal medical condition. Thanks so much. Sorry for the life story guys.

I suffered from this problem for 3 years, at last I became desperate and by carefully scrutinizing the situation I found that BACTERIA IN YOUR MOUTH ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PROBLEM. YOU MAY HAVE A TOOTH WHICH IS PROVIDING AN EXCELLENT PLACE FOR CERTAIN TYPES OF BACTERIA TO GROW. BY SWALLOWING THEM, BACTERIAL WILL OVERGROW IN INTESTINE AND TRIGGER GROWLING. DRINKING WATER OR ANY DRUG WHICH REDUCES STOMACH ACID, HELPS BACTERIA OVERGROW TOO. THE CULPRIT TOOTH OR GUM DISEASE MAY NOT HAVE ANY PAIN, DECAY OR OTHER NOTICEABLE SYMPTOM. CONSULT A DENTIST AND FIND THE CULPRIT. EXTRACT ALL HIDDEN OR SEMI-HIDDEN WISDOM TEETH IMMEDIATELY. TEST YOUR BLOOD FOR HIGH LEVELS OF "IgG". THESE BACTERIA MAY BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANOTHER SIMILAR CONDITION KNOWN AS "IBS".
