I just got a cute new puppy last week and I am very happy with him! But when I was stroking and patting him just now, I noticed a lump on his tummy. Do you think this could be dangerous? Should I be calling the vet about this? Thoughts would be very welcome!
If you have only had your puppy for a week now, I am sure it must have happened when he was playing with the other puppies in the same litter. Little puppies tend to have awfully sharp nails and sometimes hurt each other while they are playing. Perhaps a bit of dirt got under his skin in this way, and now it has become inflamed. This should get better in a week or so and requires no medical attention.
Hi i'm a vet tech this bump is it by the navel? it could be a umbilical hernia if so depending on the size he/she could need sx to repair it. But it can also be just a outie but to be safe best to have the vet take a look hope this helps
