follow up . . . the antibiotics were brutal on my system, causing diarrhea and nausea, but i must say i feel much better. still a few times i feel my heart beat when i lay down to sleep. but blood pressure is back to normal, pulse has slowed, not much numbness. I am taking some vitamin supplements to help rebuild my system. 30mg Zinc, B-complex, and magnesium. Just be very careful with magnesium, because an overdose can actually lower heart rate and blood pressure so much you could go into a coma, etc. about 150-200 mg per day as a supplement is all you would want, and not for an extended period of time.

i am feeling just just the same since last 20 days. Woke up suddenly at night with same feelings, and was rushed to hospital, ecg etc, later again during day, again all tests done and all normal everytime. Docs say its anxiety and i just have to take my own control and relax. I checked online later and i feel its ofcourse a panic attack and many people go through it at different times in life. Don't worry friend, it will be alright and you WILL be fine again. When this happens tell yourself, its just a panic attack, take slow breath and tell yourself "NOT TO REACT and i won't let it make a big issue". Also try to curb your desire for more of everything and start accepting things as they are without too much fuss. Then you see it will be over itself and you will resume yourself. I pray for your well being as i know how bad it feels.

I have mild WPW, (acessory pathway) it does not usually trigger by itself. Stay off coffee and other stimulants, drugs.
I am not terribily overweight but am a heavy set guy and sometimes I wake up after sleeping on my left side with heart pain and have to move. Well last night it happened again, except this time it felt like my heart cramped and froze for abut 2 seconds. I sat up clutching my chest thinking this is it. So anyway going to the doctor tomorrow

I have been so worried and scared every night trying to sleep. Tonight is the first time My foot or ancle rather woke me up from jerking so fast like the second I was just about asleep. I even closed my eyes and started thinking about what I dream of hoping that would help me go to sleep for a change and then that happened. I got so scared. Started feeling little pain in my back left shoulder. I'm so scared it's gonna be a heart attack. Now for about 7 yrs I have been having anxiety attacks..some times nights after nights and some times I go days without. Well recently for about 2-3 months all this is starting again but never the same feelings as before..my foot never done this, these feelings I get but my heart is not pounding really bad this time..so I get so scared and start reading these. Now that I know and I want u to know your not alone. We will be ok Just have to stay calm and patient till u see the Dr. What really sux is this happens so late and everyone is sleeping so I can call anyone. Some times I the Melatonin and that will help. The quicker u go to sleep the sooner you can pull threw this. I hope some of this can help u. Mine is getting worse right now so I gotta play a game on my phone to try n calm down. U wish u the best. Hang in their and keep in mind your not alone.

Reading that from you cheered me up a little. I worry every single night thinking I'm about to die when this starts. I'm still worried and can't wait for this to end but thank you so much for saying that.

I've had this problem for just under a year now. Eat healthier (less fatty foods like cheese, less salt), quit smoking, exercise, drink lot's of water and try to keep your brain occupied with positive activities. I think in most cases these will help you. Anxiety is the number one culprit, so it would seem. So think positive and do positive activities before bed and try to build up a routine of this. Also don't under estimate what a lack of water can do to you. Drink lot's of water. Too much salt or fatty foods can constrict blood vessels which will cause this as well.

Thoracic outlet syndrome is something that could cause these symptoms and you don't hear about it much.
Sleep apnea.
Anemic.
Lime disease.
Just some causes to look up. Hope this helps.

Yep...I'm glad I'm not alone. I've had a loud buzzing in the ears. It seemed to coincide with high blood pressure--but I still have it when its low. Its almost deafening at night. Its very uncomfortable and many times I wake up 'sick' or nauseating. I've had blood tests and cat scans...nothing. I'm trying anything to give me some sort of peace. Its very depressing. I'm on 60mg of Propanolol (or Inderol) and 20mg of Lisinopril. I also take Xanax occasionally (low dose .25mg because I know its bad for you and highly addictive). Nothing seems to work. I've heard it could be Celiac Disease, sensitivity to electronics, ear damage, anxiety, and some sort of spiritual awakening from so many different people. All I know is that it sucks a lot and feels like it is eating away my sanity and health. :(

My daughter has Dysautonamia and it has gradually worsened over the years to the point that we have applied for disability for her. I, as my cardiologist put it, "am having some Dysautonomia symptoms". We both take Mido drink for it which helps my mild symptoms quite a bit and her severe symptoms a little bit. What helped me the most, however, with my heart spasms, fibrillations, rapid heart beats, and sleeping problems was limiting my intake of white table sugar to 7 grams or less per day. It took four days for me to first start to see an improvement and by six months into my limiting of the sugar I found I could finally sleep thru the night, peacefully. I hope this helps.

Hi, I'm 17 and I will be 18 next month. I've been getting light headed, my chest gets tight, it feels like my heart is beating really hard, some parts of my body gets numb, and I get bad headaches too. I've tried looking up what it might be, I know it has to do something with enxiety but the thing is is I don't even have to be stressing or thinking about anything and it will still happen. It happens randomly in the day as well. Sometimes I get it a few times in the same day. I'm scared and I went to the doctor and what she said made no sense. She said it was because of an acid reflex but I can have something with acid in it and be just fine. I'm lost and I don't know what else to do..... Please help

Hi, I know you posted this a year ago, but I've just read through it now. Everything you have described is exactly what has been happening to me for about 6 months. I was diagnosed with severe generalised anxiety disorder and am now medicated for it. The medication - and the fact I know the science behind it all - has helped a great deal, but I still often get the things you deceived. Such as the over thinking of my breathing until I am able to focus on something, the heartbeat, the sudden jolts when trying to sleep, etc. It's so good seeing that someone else has described perfectly exactly why I go through as it can be such an isolating where it feels like you're going insane as no one seems to understand.
