I have had the same experience my right nipple is swollen very badly but I'm 12. Is that bad? My dad has scheduled an appointment at the doctor but I just wanted some opinions. Thanks.

My son is 14, and his left nipple is huge! I'm thinking it's puberty, but I'm also worried. He's highly self conscious about it because he's afraid he has gynecomastia! What to do?

Did u ever figure this out. Mine had a similar problem and they found a tumor on his pituitary gland!

I know what this is. When on puberty the hormones will travel throughout the body. The males breast begin to shape more manly and muscular which causes pain. If you are older then 22 and have this pain it means u are gaining more weight than you usually do in your breasts

it is a natural process for the male/female nipple to leak since both male and female produce breast milk, perhaps your husband has been exposed to estrogen (found in soy milk and soy yogurt), to lessen the pain, since his nipple is swelling and sometimes leaking that means his breast is full and needs to be "emptied" to do that you should suck on his nipple like a baby to safely empty his breast without the pain and swelling. To get rid of the swelling, if not comfortable with nipple sucking, have your husband put a pair of Nipple Pumps at night for the swelling

This is ridiculous.  I am an adult female and I can say with certainty that 'emptying' your breasts just makes MORE milk.

If you are a male teen rest assured that I have checked with the dr (my son is 13 and has this issue) and it is TOTALLY normal.  It is normal for them to be sore.  It is normal for them to have a lump behind them.  My dr said it would last 2-24 months and then go away on its own.  He said not to irritate them or put pressure on them (they are not zits or cysts so leave them alone) or it will just make them more painful.

Lots of boys have this happen during puberty (up to 60%).  It is NOTHING to worry about.

Now if you are a grown man with pain and discharge from your nipples see a doctor.  Discharge (except in lactating women) is not a good sign.

you need to see a doctor ASAP, these symptoms are strong at first and not as deadly, but over time this rare disease becomes more deadly and less noticeable over time, after the first symptoms are acknowledged it takes roughly a year and a half to become serious and even could result in chest cysts and tumors, causes blood clotting and blockage of the heart resulting in fatal heart issues such as heart attacks, considering this was posted last year you must hurry and take your soon to the emergency room, even if he does not have feelings of pain anymore, the absence of pain means the rare disease has evolved to phase two; nicium-phobillus

This is normal to happen if your young it could be hormonal related.

I'm 13 and everytime I go swimming my nipples get red and they hurt. This had been happening since I was 11 but now it is just aggravating. Is this like a reaction to the salt in the pool or something ?

Being that you are 17 already that stage of puberty should have came and gone. Even if you've had it for a few years can be normal but for the fact that this is just now happening I would definitely talk to your doctor, may be something more serious.
