Maybe I'll just pop over to an AA site and tell them to stop bitching and moaning - I used to drink at college till I lost all consciousness but I didn't need to drink the next day. Then I'll head over to some gamblers anonymous site and tell them, I've lost my money on the pokies before, cut your losses and go home. Then I might hit a body dysmorphia site and tell them to stop looking in the mirror instead of sticking their finger down their throat - we all have fat days. Or maybe I'll just contemplate that we are all unique individuals and I will never know what someone else is experiencing but, just because I don't/haven't, doesn't mean it isn't in the realm of possibility.

Why then both times I have quit weed after prologued use did I have exact same symptoms about 24 hrs after quitting ? You’re body becomes used to THC , simple, the homestatic level changes in your body when you use a drug for a period of time , no matter how “innocent”

I am cold the time but I’m having hot flashes as we speak and on two seconds I’ll be cold. Not to mention I can’t eat a thing. I tried to quit a month ago and this exact thing happened to me. I also quit a couple years ago and had these symptoms. Some people might not experience them. Good for you. Stop telling people what they are going through isn’t real just because it isn’t your experience .

Dr in front of your name does not make you right. Try it for yourself you'll soon see the physical side effects. Sweats, hot flushes, headaches and alot of battling your craving. Day four for me and thats exactly what im experiencing. So yes you can get physical effects from withdrawal

I call BS on your whole statement! I've been using edibles for the last 5 years and are going through the exact same symptoms as everyone else. It is physically addictive, just maybe not for you.

Yeah weed is super addictive and makes me super tired and not able to eat. People have definitely died from weeds direct affect on the heart I'm sure.

BABY THAT'S JUST YOU. I quit cigarettes cold turkey after smoking for 12 years (same exact time frame you gave), and had NO SYMPTOMS. I quit smoking weed, and have no cravings for it, but I have hot flashes that don't let up until it's completely out of my system. (I had to quit once temporarily before this time) Also, having insomnia when you quit smoking weed IS A WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOM, dummy. Do you even realize how ignorant you sound? It's been a year since you posted that comment, so maybe you've become a bit wiser by now.

I’ve been a daily smoker for the past 5 years, like wake up get high, then after a few hours do it again and again and then right before bed and before every meal ect. I am currently traveling abroad and can’t smoke for 2 weeks. I have quit before and at first you will feel pretty bored and uninterested in things and maybe some occasional hot flashes depending on how much you smoked. I can deal with all that and get over it pretty quick. I would have a little trouble falling asleep but some documenteries and maybe a beer or glass of wine would make me sleepy.

What I can’t handle and what makes stopping so difficult for me is the severe lack of appetite and CONSTANT stomach discomfort and hunger pains. If I don’t smoke now I am physically unable to eat sometimes and the thought of eating makes me sick. Feeling starving and dizzy and wanting to eat while simultaneously being nauseous and unable to even swallow more than a crumb is an awful experience I wouldn’t wish on anyone. Eventually my appetite comes back but before then I am miserable.

What’s even worse is that I brought it all upon myself because before I started smoking I had a fast metabolism as I had been an athlete my whole life and would eat anything you put in front of me at any time.

Iv been a daily smoker for 4-5 years now and just with friends before that . Stopping is fine i can go without . Through the day is fine no change exept wanting a joint but thats about it ... it comes when i get into bed a night i started smoking for my insomnia in the first place but now asoon as i lay down i get hot flashes feel dizzy and sweat so much you would think iv been im a bath ... this all stops if i sit up for 10 minutes . But then if i lay down again even with no covers its like im on fire ... going abroud and wont be able to smoke so quitting now ..but if this carries on everynight i dont think i will have the energy to even go. I can cope with anything else but constantly feeling sick , on fire and a slight headache everytime you lay down is killing me

Addictive. The word is addictive. weed withdrawal is real. Withdrawal symptoms for dependency do exist even if it’s not the same as withdrawal from a narcotics addiction. Consuming cannabis lowers dopamine levels. Raise your dopamine levels to reduce the intensity of withdrawal symptoms. Green veg, exercise and cuddling.

It most certainly DOES have physical effects if you've been smoking it everyday for years - DECADES even - and then quit. I'm also having chest pains after quitting cold turkey but I understand its because my lungs are healing. I'd been feeling really sluggish and unhealthy and want my white teeth back too. I've never been one for drinking much and craved the zoning out and overthinking life because I'm alone a lot and it makes it fun. It also makes me appreciate my job and family life when I'm on it for some crazy reason- and things don't seem so bad. Everyone knows it affects your short term memory too - so thinking that its not affecting you physically is a pipe dream! Sounds like you merely haven't smoked enough for long enough.
