The 'hard all the time' is just nonsense. I beat off between 4 and 10 times a week, and have done so for the past decade. Let me address the nonsense from the previous posters:-
1) It doesn't stay hard all the time. This is nonsense. In fact, it gets soft immediately afterward, and won't stand up unless I really work at getting turned on. In all likelihood, I won't think about sex for at least half a day.
2) Someone said that women don't like guys who beat off because it's a habit you get enslaved to. This is also nonsense. Most emotionally health girls enjoy watching you beat off to them. They get a bit weird about it if you're beating off to porn though; some of them think it's like cheating. If you're single though, they kinda expect you to beat off regularly, and I've never experienced a girl judge me badly for it (if one did, I'd dump her and never speak to her again)
3) Impotence. Again, nonsense. How can exercising the penis cause impotence?
4) Sunken eyes, poor vision, laziness... I've never had this problem. I have a high pressure bank lending job, and I don't have any energy problems.
5) Serious disease. Not sure where the disease is supposed to come from. Wash your hands first I suppose..?
There's one thing I think you should keep an eye out for. Now, remember that during your late teens and early twenties, your sexuality is still forming, and there's a feedback loop where what you beat off to will 'stay with you'. Granted, beating off to porn is as much self-exploration as it is self-formation, but just remember that not every sexual practice will excite every girl. So, having early sexual experiences with actual girls will do you some good - it calibrates you to what real girls are like. When I say 'stay with you', by the way, nothing is permanent, you can change your sexuality later in life, it just takes a bit of work.
Oh, and ignore Christians. They don't know anything about anything when it comes to a healthy sexuality, or good sex. They'll just take your self esteem away for being a human being with a sex drive.

So the MORE you try not to think about the MORE you punish yourself, the MORE you will want it and it will take over your life! It is NOT a SIN, It is NOT Immoral! It is a private NATURAL act that ALL mammals do! And the only people that don't are the ones that have had to endure a LOT to stop! So PLEASE don't think so badly of yourselves and just learn your body, and know that with hormones your body will need to do this! And with ALL the stimuli around us the body NEEDS to carress itself and to relax!
It can be negative and addictive depending on the person or why one is doing it... For example, someone who studies the bible and has a relationship with God or higher power (whatever your beliefs are) Someone mentioned in the bible, this is true.. But for whatever reasons it most of the time will cause feelings of guilt and can be damaging to ones self-esteem..
I know this first hand (or should I say right hand, lol) Because I struggle with the feelings I get after I have wanked it... In fact I enjoy wanking it and if it weren't for my beliefs I probably wouldn't have a problem with it.. Hmm..
another situation I can give in abusing masturbation or taking it out of a healthy context is when a person uses it to treat something, like anxiety, or as stress relief.. I mean I think we all can agree that after having a wank session one would feel relaxed, sleepy, or just good... So, if this is the case it can be dangerous and even effect the persons life, in a negative way...
For those of you who can do it and keep it in a healthy context.. My hat is off to you..
But for those who get negative affects some of which I may have talked about... There is answers..
best of luck.
