I believe that I am suffering tremendously from mental disorders. I have been suicidal, or atleast have had suicidal tendencies, for 4 years now, and even have tried to commit suicide. I used to cut an excessive amount, but it has dropped to once every few months. I have suffered from both bulimia and anorexia for 3 years, but am now 99% over it. My parents and close friends think that I am bipolar, because I have "good days" and "bad days", and usually my days are both. I will start crying and have absolutely no reason as to why I am. Recently, though, I have started hallucinating. There are creatures telling me that "the dark side is better" and that I should kill myself. I talked to my parents about it and they think I'm making it up or I'm just going through a phase. I know that I am depressed, but not treating it in any way (yet, atleast). My boyfriend of 9 months is now scared to be with me once it's dark because that's when I start to hallucinate and it scares him a lot. I don't know what I should do; go to a psychiatric doctor? Or should I just wait to see if it gets any better?
See a Doctor! See a Doctor! See a Doctor!
Your symptoms don't sound like a "phase" to me. My husband has a bro/sis that both have scitsophrania (excuse spelling) and they hallucinate if they don't take meds. Ofcourse you can have something else. Are you a teenager? Teen years can deffinately affect this time in your life. It could be hormonal. But its still VERY VERY SERIOUS. Your family/friends should absolutely take you seriously. Many teens/adults do succeed in their suicide attempt even if it was only a call for help.
So, please See a Doctor! Hope this helps!
