I've been on methadone 31 years now, at 170mg/day, but I split dose mine and it makes all the difference. But I get what you're saying and I know you speak honestly from experience. We have to make the best of it, cause we can't go back. I wish I could and prayed for God to let me start over, but he hasn't approved that for me evidently. Do you think God could do something like that for us? me and you? I'll keep trying and I hope you do too. Good Luck bro.

I switched from subutex to methadone for chronic pain for two weeks. Dr told me to play with the dosage. I did. Started at 10 mg...30-40 seems to b what helps. Much better pain med than subs. Yet he won't prescribe more than 15 mg a day and i was on 16 mg of substorms 3 years( for pain) Someone please look at the conversion chart and tell me if I'm crazy or did he underdose me? I know 15 wasn't helping i tried it for several days then kept upping 5 until i felt good and my pain level was bearable. How do u find a pain dr to prescribe more than 15 mgs of methadone??? I don't want to go back on those worthless subs nor do i like the feeling of fentynal and all the other bs they try to put me on i end up stopping! My family dr doesn't prescribe it. What to do.........

Go to a methadone clinic and start maintenance treatment . When you get to the clinic tell them you need methadone to treat an addiction to narcotic pain pills. Technically they can't dispense you methadone for pain. That has to be done thru a 'Pain Clinic'. There is no longer a limit on dosage for methadone maintenance treatment. I've been on the clinic for many years now and my daily dosage is currently at 180mg/day. The fee is $70/week for everything. Includes medication, dr fee,lab fees, etc. I hope you find some relief there. Rodney
