Hi I'm 27 and love in the UK and I've been trying to find out what this is for years to no avail. I've had these spots ever since I started shaving my legs at 13 so I'm positively sure it's linked to shaving. I spoke with a nurse last year who said that when shaving you can block the pores and aparently this is what causes the rash/spots. She suggested exfoliating once a week and using a good natural moisturizer after every shave. It has helped x
Hi maggie you able to get rid of those red spot on your leg. My hubby is having those and it has been a year now and spreading also so bit worried thought doctor said no need to worried. if you able to cure then please let me know. Truly apperciate.
I've only had these spots for about 3days and they are starting to scare me. But unlike everyone else's mine are in a line. Yep, just a lot of little red dots in maybe a 2-3 inch line. They are right next to my knee but on my thigh. I've looked up a lot of conditions but nothing matches my symptoms. They are flat they aren't itchy I don't have like a rash or infection and I don't feel bad at all. Maybe they are caused by stress, I mean I'm going to find out if I get into this school I have been wanting to go to, but still I'm always stressed out and this is the first I've seen them. If anyone has simaliar experiences let me know if you find out what this is!
I'm 16 and I've had the problem for a couple of years now and I wax so it's not related to shaving. It seems to get worse when I exercise, they become more red. Also, on my lower legs they aren't bumps they are smooth but as you go up they turn into bumps. I have found exfoliating doesn't help and would like to find a solution as it's affecting my confidence in wearing shorter clothes
Hi, I'm reading this years after the original post, but I had this problem when I was taking Crestor for high cholesterol. It definitely looks like the tiny blood vessels are bursting under the skin. When I stopped taking Crestor and all meds for my elevated cholesterol, the problem went away, but mysteriously returned a few years later. I've always had skin sensitivities and I noticed also that when I shaved it seemed to get worse. I decided to try washing with water only (twice a day) except I still use a mild soap about once a week, and sometimes only once every two weeks, still showering with water twice a day. After two weeks my legs cleared up and have been clear for a whole year! And using mostly water only has healed the eczema I used to get on my arms!
Keratosis Pilaris
Keratosis pilaris is a common, harmless skin condition. It causes small, hard bumps that may make your skin feel like sandpaper.
The bumps are often light-colored. They usually appear on your upper arms, thighs, and buttocks, sometimes with redness or swelling. They can also show up on your face, but that's less common.
Except for some itching, keratosis pilaris doesn't hurt and doesn't get worse. Many children and teens get it, and it usually disappears as they get older.
Cause
Keratosis pilaris is caused by a buildup of keratin, the protein that protects skin from infections and other harmful things. The buildup forms a plug that blocks the opening of a hair follicle, but doctors don't know what triggers the buildup.
If you have dry skin, you're more likely to have keratosis pilaris. It's usually worse in the winter months, when there's less moisture in the air, and then may clear up in the summer.
It often affects people with certain skin conditions, including eczema (also called atopic dermatitis).
Your doctor can diagnose keratosis pilaris by looking at your skin. You don't need to be tested for it.

I've had this for years. Venus raser doesn't help at all. Even tried not shaving for a month. Nothing helps. Dermatologists said not to worry.
Is it gone now? It would be so so so so so so helpful to me to know if it went away for you and how you got it away because I started tanning and now I have these red dots all over my legs and arms and I’m so worried about it beyond belief. It would mean SOOO much to me if I could know if it went away for you. For me it’s just red freckle looking things all over that don’t itch and are not irritating at all, it is just annoying to look at so much and I can’t go out anywhere.
