Monistat 1 - how long does it take to work? what is normal?

A yeast infection IS fungal!

So I just used monistat 1 for the first time and I was reading what all can happen and my mom does not know anything about this because I'm scared to tell her.. because she may just to conclusions, but how long does it last inside you ??? And should I be scared of what all can happen??

This is my first yeast infection. I ended up getting very sick with strep throat so of course I was given antibiotics. What I didn't know was that one of the symptoms of the antibiotic was a yeast infection. So a couple days after starting my antibiotics I started itching down there and realized I was a little raw. I did the apple cider vinegar which helped some but I got soooo tired of feeling uncomfortable, I decided to use monistat 1. I was terrified after seeing all the reviews but I did it anyways because I mean, I rather go through the pain as long as it'll help get rid of it. I inserted the ovule a little after taking a shower and there was a short amount of itching and discomfort and then I felt warmth. Woke up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and it started itching like crazy but it wasn't really bad pain. I wiped some of it out, went back to sleep. Now I'm up again and it feels like there is no itching. Feels 10x better than it did the day before. It's the highest dose so of course there will be intense burning and itching which it warns you about but it has to get worse before it gets better trust me.

This is my second day on Monistat 1 day. Last night it burned but not a horrific burn. more so like a cool burn tingle. i was able to sleep. by my groin nodes have swollen up a bit. today there is only slight tingle when i pee. not burning. it does not itch a whole lot at all. i can sit comfortable. but eveeything down there is enlarged. like, not super swollen or closed shut, just ... big n puffy. As well there are two little areas which are bright red aroynd the opening but does not hurt. only feels kinda like a pimple is there. but no bumps at all. figured could be a burn patch from the sudden hi dosage since i do have sensitive skin. i did use the topical cream whivh xauses slight burning 5 mins after application but subdues. so might be overall light reaction to the cream. under further inspection i opened her up n clumps are everywhrre in there. n near urethra still very red. but does not burn or itch. pleased with monistat so far. hoping day 7 is the kicker and i can go bavk to my normal life. wish they included more wipes. those helped the most after urination to clean up a bit n before bed.

I agree with you 100%. This Monistst 1 is way too harsh. I'm going through the same thing.

A yeast infection is a fungal infection. Not bacterial.

omggg i used Monistat 1 about a week ago. Now i am experiencing thick discharge. Doesn't have any smell. It might still be the pill stuff coming out, idk im freaked out! Some of the discharge is stuck in my clitoris. TMI i know, but i need help!

So I’ve had my untreated yeast infection since the 26th of last month . I finally got the 7 day monistat but the itching and burning had stopped days before I got it but I still had symptoms of the yeast infection so I did the creme last night and the next day I woke up with my pad full of creme but I no more have the white discharge but should I still continue inserting the creme ? I believe it worked

I feel the same way I used the M1 and I put some of the cream on my vag to get rid of the itching but it starting burning, itching, and I got really swollen down there. I felt like I needed a fan to cool my vag down like it was on fire I almost wanted to go to the emergency room after about 1hr 30 min it started to feel a little better I took Motrin and went to bed the next day the symptoms reduced a lot I set up an appointment with my GYN to get the one pill Diflucan I heard it’s good works fast and less messy and extra side effects
