Monistat 1 - how long does it take to work? what is normal?

I have had a yeast infection before, but went to the doctor for it.
now that I have one again, I don't have any insurance. I used monistat 1 for it this time. I am curious just how do I know its working?
my pain and itching and swelling have decreased, but I am still having a lot of white clumpy discharge. I still feel that there is a problem down there, but it isn't crippling now. is that normal.
and with the monistat one, (which I won't use again) there came a night of no sleep because it amplified everything by 100!!! itching and burning!!!
so what is normal for a yeast infection when it is clearing up?

NO its not, its fungal, not bacterial.

This was my first time trying Monistat 1 and treating a possible yeast infection on my own. When I read on the package that is wasn't recommended to take the dosage if it was your first time having a yeast infection, I was panicking. The last time I had a yeast infection, I was much younger (but I didn't remember this until way later after I took the insert). For anyone who is wondering, I used the cream one. I did the normal routine and it did feel uncomfortable having some cool cream inserted into my lady parts, but it was bearable. I DID however wish I went pee before I put it in because it felt like I had to urinate (and eventually I would have if I stayed up too long). So I went to bed as soon as possible so I wouldn't pee out the dosage I just inserted (that would of been a waste). I fell asleep fine, but woke up really uncomfortable from my full bladder and vagina. After I urinated, the cream did come out, but I also think I had clear discharge come out as well. All today I had this clearish discharge when I wiped, so I'm not sure what that means (I've never noticed if I've had discharge before this "yeast infection" problem, so this was a substantial amount). All day I haven't had itching, swelling, or burning until about 20 minutes ago. It could possibly be because I was talking to my best friend about the infection, so I triggered my mind to realize I was itching. But overall, it's not unbearable like it was the other day. So, so far so good! I'll try to come back later to report if there has been an crazy side effects or if I even have a yeast infection at all (I have reasons to believe I might have BV instead, but my mother recommended trying to treat this as a yeast infection first).By the way, sorry for being so in depth! Just wanted to explain my process so maybe I can soothe the minds of others who are reading these negative experiences.

Yeast infections are fungal; Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) is bacterial.
Try the 7 day treatment. The longer you treat the better
I am pretty sure that the vaginal insert melts all over and coats the vagina, so it is normal to have a discharge afterwards. I was always taught they were best to use at night, so the drug stays in your vagina for longer. It is normal to have a white or clumpy discharge with a yeast infection. A brown discharge is not normal with a yeast infection, it could possibly be an STD.
You should definitely shave again if that is the case. The stubble will cause scratching to the area and make the symptoms worse.
Last night thinking I might have a yeast infection I went to Walgreens. After spending several minutes looking I decided to buy MONISTAT 1. BIG MISTAKE! HUGE MISTAKE!!!! I came home inserted the ovule then got on the computer and started researching Monistat just to see if I had made the right choice. OMG, there was review after review on hundreds of web sites about the negative side effects. I was skeptic and thought it can't be that bad so I left the ovule in and went to bed. About 2 hours later I woke up with the worst burning in my huha that I have ever had in my life!!! I tried to sleep with my legs open and washed with cold water. Being an idiot I went work and suffered a few hours before calling MONISTAT. They acted like this was normal and no big deal and told me to use cold packs and it might go away in a few days! WTF, my huha is going to be burning like it had been saturated in battery acid and cayenne pepper for 3 days!!!! ARE THEY CRAZY? I ended up having to go to the Dr. they had to give me a steroid shot. I will warn every female I come in contact with DO NOT USE MONISTAT1 and please warn all the females you know. I'm really worried about the long term side effects. I totally agree with the 1000's of other women who have had the same experience, this stuff should be pulled from the shelves and ban! Don't be stupid like I was and trust the very few positive reviews, it's not worth it!
I used monistat 1 and I'm on day two I had a lil itchin the first night but nothing like it was prior to usin the monistat, however I'm a lil curious to how long exactly does it take for the off white dissolved egg to be completely gone cus that's all I've seen come out. I was very discouraged readin the reviews I pray this goes well for me and ill send and update after my seven days which I've seen people say it still takes even if u get the one a day
I used the M1 treatment at like 1pm today, after about an hour the itching and burning was bad. I kept the anti itch cream on it and it helped tremendously. 12 hours later, almost all itching and burning is gone. Would definitely use this again.
I used monistat 1 & 3 in the past (it has been few years for both) and never noticed any difference in the effectiveness, pain or itching between the two. They both worked really well. I'm using the cvs generic brand of monistat 1 (I checked & it's the exact same ingredients). I inserted the ovule about 5 hours ago. It came with 3 cooling wipes and anti-itch cream. I used one wipe before inserting the ovule and applied some of the anti-itch cream. So far I have some mild itching but it is still much better than it has been the last couple days. Hopefully it won't get worse in the night. I'll post in the next couple days with an update.
i used the monistat one two days ago ( this is my very first yeast infection). It helped me a lot and my symptoms were gone with in the next day. Today I had intercourse and I noticed some of the white cream treatment on my partner and now it seems that all my symptoms are back, at the same intensity as before I took it. Does anyone know if it is okay to take more monistat for this? thanks!
After taking Monostat 1, when are you able to have sex again? This yeast infection is a huge downer on my sex life, and I really want to get it back as quickly as possible!
Ok well first of all, the Monistat 1 day is extremely potent and it usually ends up doing more harm than good because it will help you faster but then it will make u more irritated and raw because its so strong. Second, the 3 day and the 7 day are MUCH better options considering they are helping you slowly and not so aggressively, the first day of using it, it will hurt and sting for a little but that's it. Btw try not to use the ovule eggs because they can be quite irritating. The discharge probably won't stop until a few days after the treatment is over if it doesn't then u can either go to a doctor or you can get a douche and douche very lightly, DO NOT use the entire bottle, the douche will simply clean out what is already in there. After you doucher a monistat applicator with vaginal cream. The discharge is still abnormal because the treatment us still in you.
If you have blood like spotting it is probably not a yeast infection it sounds more like trich which you would need to see a doctor for to get a perception medication
