Hi,
I had one, a large one removed anout 30 years ago. It was great, walked on it just fine fully in about 2 weeks and that was that. At the time my wonderful surgeon told me, you know you have another one in your left foot and eventually that may start to bother you - and of course he was right. So here we are in 2018 and I'm having the issues of pain feeling of walking on a marble the clicking and the burning sensation up the back of my leg. I am scheduled to have surgery on February 22nd. That surgery, as I'm told by my new surgeon (since my original surgeon does not practice anymore...remember this was 30 years ago -) has told me he is not taking the room neuroma out like the original operation on my right foot Dash he is doing compression surgery on my left foot and he will cut the ligament to release the pressure on the nerve. I hope this works and I don't go through any kind of trauma or poor results. I can tell you if most of you are suffering too contact Morton's Neuroma Center in Framingham Massachusetts as they are listed online and have a wonderful website. They specialize in helping people with post-op poor results and getting them healthy again from their Morton's neuroma surgery. You can Google the center and look for their website as well it is online. I wish you all the best !
Anyway, I was in my early 30's when the right foot was done with excision, and I'm 57 now. I'll be having that second one done (as my first surgeon had told me about this left foot neuroma 24 years ago, and it would start to bother me at some point. - and lo and behold it has. Being older and not as "healthy" as I was ( as in typical stuff like arthritis, older ligaments, tendons, whatever), I do certainly hope that this left foot surgery is very successful, since it is compression surgery and not excision. My current surgeon says it is a better technique and I should be good to go.
Wish me luck - and if anyone needs to, please contact the Morton's Neuroma Center in MA in my original message!
