This response is ridiculous. Yes, it is probably anal lubricant/mucous. I find it interesting that someone sees this substance as being produced because of IRRITATION from anal intercourse. I wonder if he would conclude the same thing about vaginal secretions: "You see, the vagina becomes irritated when penetrated by the penis, so it produces a lubricating substance". When most people are focused on vaginal intercourse, they see vaginal lubrication as normal. But because of the INTENSE hang-ups that many straights have about "what gays do in the bedroom", the idea that the anus self-lubricates is horrific and unthinkable!! So anal lubrication must be due to something problematic, like irritation. The fact that your anus can and does produce lubrication suggests that your anus can accommodate things with lubrication. your prostate secretions come out thru the vast deferens through your penis, not into your rectum. There is a thin membrane between your rectal canal and the prostate. So the fluids shouldn't be in your anus at all. The tubes go from the prostate out through your penis not into your rectum.
