This (I dont think) really classifies as a medical problem but im not sure as i cant get any answers for google. But recently i just noticed that I'm able to move my Adams apple, I'm able to push it side to side and it feels like its rubbing against something when i do it feels like there's a clicking inside my throat when i do. It doesnt cause any pain when i do it so im not exactally worried about it but my question is, is this normal? thanks
Yes it is normal for it to move. Your Adam's apple is really a piece of cartilage so it is somewhat soft as compared to bone. It is attached to ligaments that hold it in place. They allow for movement.
Hope that helps.
Hope that helps.
It is a fairly normal phenomenon to have a slightly mobile adam's apple. If it is highly mobile you may want to be checked for any number of skin and collagen disorders. I was recently diagniosed with psuedoxanthoma elasticum and i have had the same thing happen to me all my life. Not to say it is caused by this specifically but it may be a contributing factor.
I can move it up and down very far
I can move my adam's apple around like 270 degrees it and iy dose not hurt and i just need to know if this is even possible
What if after moving it , is it normal for your throat to fill like it closed alittle

I get the same clicking in my throat when i move it side to side scares me but think its normal just don't play with it.
you lil savage
Same thing happenign right now
I just noticed I can move mine from side to side. Strange. The reason I tried is that for many years now I have occasional bouts of a 'clicking' sound and feeling when I swallow. It can come on at any time, most often in the middle of the night when I wake up in a panic because I can't seem to swallow, right out of a dead sleep. It's very concerning. I had an endoscopy done in April, inconclusive. Not sure what to do about it as it is very scary when it happens. Anyone else experience this?
I haven't had it happen in the last 15 years or so but mine used to be able to pop to either side and when it was like that I couldn't swallow either. I never thought much about it, I just popped it back into place with my fingers.
likewise mine moves up and down very far too and it isn't painful at all
