I feel alot like you from reading your post. I researched and researched and I got my plan to detox. I find my info from the internet and peoples experiences like your post. I originally was addicted to oxycodone, then went right into smoking OC's. I didn't get into heroin but all of my friends did. After that I went to a 10 day detox place and was clean for a couple months, then relapsed. I went to an outpatient clinic and was put on suboxone. I stayed on that for 6 months and tried to quit. BIG mistake. Suboxone and Methadone are basically impossible to quit. the half-life on the two are way longer than OC's, percocet, morphine, and vicoden. So after two weeks of profusely sweating and withdrawing I gave up. I gave up because I found out that the symptoms last from 2 months on and I couldn't do it that long so i caved. When I was in treatment I was maybe a notch above having mild withdrawals. I couldn't sleep more than an hour for 4 days, and had a panic attack from lack of sleep but the nurses helped me out of that. Other than that and sweating from my armpits from day 4-7 it wasn't that bad. I felt completely fine by the time i left, so I knew that the withdrawals shouldn't last past 14 days. When I gave up i switched to morphine because I could get it consistently. I knew to quit I had to switch to an opiate with a shorter half life. So, now to my plan. Currently I do 15mg of morphine at a time 2-3 times a day. I planned on doing the morphine for a couple months to make sure I flushed the rest of the suboxone out of my system, but its been about a year now. I got a job and been putting it off, but now i'm making it happen. I plan on switching to oxycodone 15's and cut down to half a 15, then half of that at a time, 2-3 times a day.. I want to do those for a week and a half to 2 weeks or so because they have the shortest half life ouf of all of the opiates, and I know I can quit them because I have before. I'm sure it will be a little rough becuase thats just the trade off, a little worse withdrawal for a shorter withdrawal time. What do you think of my plan?

That was a great post you just typed about what you are planning to do "Guest" lol. Firstly I went to Register but all the Usernames were taken, so I will go back soon and use numbers as well for my Username, but was hoping to catch this person before they left their Computer. I really like your idea. I've spent countless hours on the Internet researching different ideas, so when I quit Suboxone, (I'm tapering right down) but I want to succeed this time. I was using Oxycodone, but I'm beginning to think I was better off trying to go Cold Turkey off Oxy, as people seem to be suggesting that it's harder to come off Suboxone than Oxy. I guess there is no easy way. I also liked the Post from  "Wanna Stay Clean" and then your reply popped up :-)  Bloody Oxys lol. I curse the day I started them.

If it worked more power to you! I am currently fighting the Methadone demon and it sucks! My husband and I had a 7 year 100+ mg a day Percocet habit. Well right at 3 years ago we decided to go get help. If I would've known that "help" would be like this I wouldn't have went that route. My highest was 60 mgs a day and my lowest was 11. Now I'm at 22 mgs and trying to taper to nothing and the anxiety and panic attacks are unreal. I want to get off of this c**p so bad but I feel like it's going to be a long process. I will keep going though and fight through it for my daughter. I am tired of being a slave to something every day and can't wait to be normal again! I look forward to living a totally free life! Thank you so much for sharing your stories with us! It feels great to see that someone out there know's what we're going through. I love reading all the different stories and experiences to gain knowledge. I'd love to know how you're doing with everything and I wish you the best!!

I have been taking just a small amount of oxycodone for almost 9 months now everyday..anywhere from 5mg to 30 mg per day. I used to be addicted to lots of other pain meds for 10 years. I got clean November 2014 and May of 2015 I started getting huge kidney stones that had to be surgically removed so came the Percocet back in my life. Im on day 3 of withdrawals Again!! All that progress and here I am again! But I must say the diarrhea, stomach cramps, no appetite and not resting was terrible the first 2 days but today I felt like running my errands and not feeling like I could die! If I can make it for 2 more days I Will Never Do this again!! I knew this would happen but really what choice did I have at the time?

Hi. I was googling mild opiate withdrawal. I got loads of pages saying as long as 2, 3, weeks. I came across your story & im on day 1/2 I think (I was using suboxone 2mg & also citing them in half. Then I had surgery and was given oxy/Tylenol capsule. I decided I did not want to go back on the suboxone .. THIS WAS MY CHANCE! Get off.. forever. Mind you, I haven’t used heroin/oxy for pleasure in 10 years. I was just on & off suboxone & as you know that withdrawal can be a real B! I wonder since I abruptly stopped the sub after surgery then went on the very low dose oxy of one-acetaminophen 5-325 for 10 days (what am I actually withdrawing from?) maybe in reverse but the taper was better than the sub? Gosh your story really moved me. Helped me. Just knowing that I have only 5 days of this .. I also went to treatment when I was 22. They put me on morphine. WORST WITHDRAWL EVER. So this is the way. I appreciate you sharing - thank you
