:? Please help. I had a baby girl 6 months ago. About a month back I have been noticing some stomach symptoms. When I lie on my stomach it almost feels as if I am lying on a small round ball. It's just an uncomfortable feeling. Also every once in a while i will feel almost like a fluttering but more of like a baby doing a somersault in my lower stomach. Not gas bubbles but more of the feeling of a baby moving. On September 3rd of this year (after the baby) I decided to get the Morena IUD put in. The symptoms started about then.. my doctor took a pregnancy test before putting the IUD in and it came back negative. I have also been bleeding since it was put in which my doctor said was normal with the IUD. These stomach problems are just annoying enough to be alarming. What is going on? Could I have been pregnant when i got the IUD put in?
what happened?? did u find out what it was? i feel kinda the same thing, please reply

It is so neat to know that there are other women that suffer from this weird "fluttering". I keep telling my husband that if I didn't know any better I would swear I was 5 months pregnant and the baby is kicking - doing somersaults, etc. I have three children and no the feeling quite well, and this is it! I also have a Marena IUD, and have had it for almost three years, but the "movement" type feelings didn't start until recently.. it is really freaking me out! :-(

Tell me about it, my daughter is 9 months old. Today at work the fluttering started! for 9 hours, then when i got hom elaying down on my side it started again! I havent checked on a PT yet but, I don't have the symptoms of being pregnant. It's getting annoying! My last preg, I didn't find out till I was 6 months along! I am getting a prego test tomorrow, but they're not always accurate... wish me luck , not going to freak out but I cannot sleep! :(

LOl this is so funny. I just recently started with this feeling like a baby is kicking inside me. But I have had an Iud for 7 years and definitely not pregnant. It feels so strange though. It is interesting to see that so many others are having this issue.

it sounds as if it is fetal phantom kicks. I still get them and my daugther is almost 2. it can feel just like a baby flutter, kick or more. i was so convinced with a phantom kick that i took a prego test.

Irritating is the word for it alright. My husband doesn't like to hear about it, because BABY freaks him out. I'm not pregnant either, but I've had them for the past 2 years. I'm really tired of it. It bothers and bothers me, once in a while it stops. Finally though, I know I'm not alone. Not that I'm glad that you ladies are going through it , you know what I mean. Anyway, it really would be great if a woman actually found out what this was by a doctor. I haven't got it checked out. You know women, we never have time for ourselves. Sincerely, yucky feeling.

OMG! I can't believe what I'm reading! I had no idea this morning that when I googled "fluttering in stomach and not pregnant," that I'd find all these women going through the same thing. And the craziest part is, I also have the Mirena IUD. I've had it since 2003 (a year after my one and only child was born), and it's supposed to be good for 5 years, so this is the year (2008) that I'm supposed to get it out. It will be exactly 5 years this September that I've had it. I'm telling you, I litterally thought I was pregnant, and was on the verge of going to get a pregnancy test until i read this post today. It feels exactly like a little baby fluttering in there, just like when i was pregnant. Well, it obviously has to do with the IUD, I'm convinced. When I find out more, I'll post again. Thanks everyone!

OMG I have the exact same thing the last few months!

Like I am pregant the fluttering is very obvious and reminds me of when i was pregnant!

I had mirena in for 5 years but had it out almost 1 year ago this september surgically!

I would love to know if both are related?!?

I agree it is very frustrating as i keep thinking "could i be pregnant and not know"

I have had the same symptoms for about 6 months. It is like a small bouncing ball is in my stomach. I can push it around and flatten it. Also, sometimes it feels like a small sausage. WEIRD>. I had an abdominal scan and everything was normal. the do says it is BM or gas bubbles, but it is strange and bothersome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
