Hi Danny just wondering if your nausea went away? I am almost 4 months post op and also have horrendous nausea, dry wretching and have vomited some days. Spent 2 weeks in hospital and had all the tests and they just say it's my body trying to adjust and it will settle. Mine is worse in the morning but do have it most of the day. Wake up at 4am every day with it. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated? Thanks

What are your husbands symptoms. I had diarrhea for 6-8 weeks with nausea and then the diarrhea stopped and the nausea got worse. It's absolutely horrendous. I have vomited some days too and have horrendous dey wretching. I know of a few other people that went through similar and it went on for 6-9 months. Is his worse in the morning? X

Yes, I had mine out 7 months ago. Wake in the a.m. with nausea, never vomit, just feel bad. Some days after I eat but the end of the day I feel better but others I don't. Have no appetite at all, have to make myself eat. It is getting old for sure.

I'm so thankful to have found this post. Sorry we are all here though. I have been so worried about my post surgery condition. I am 3wks post GB removal and I feel miserable. Food turns my stomach, no appetite, I'm nauseated most of the day, I'm bloated and just tired all the time. I didn't feel this miserable with my GB. Why do all the surgeons say ' oh you'll feel 100% better with it done'. I feel very mislead.

Try to avoid extra surgery.

I am wondering that there is a misleading propaganda about gallbladder removal. Doctors say it is a "piece of cake", that all pains will be over, but as a matter fact, but what I have been reading shows that too many people are complaining about several disturbing symptoms after surgery. [Some people may feel well afterwards. Probably those who had no symptoms before, people who had just gallbladder stones, are the ones who recover better. ] After 50 days from my surgery I fell nausea [which I had never had before] mainly in the morning. And also I feel pain on the right side of the abdomen and back as I had in the past...

I had my gallbladder removed 1 year ago - June 2014. A week after removal, I had another gallstone attack, even without a gallbladder. Upon returning to the ER, it took several tests to determine that my common bile duct was clogged with "sludge", a kind of byproduct of the gallstones. The sludge material caused the post-op attack. It left me completely yellow with jaundice. A stent had to be placed in the bile duct using ERCP, and this solved the problem. I get nauseous when I eat heavy, fatty foods. Really, my advice to those of you with post-op pain is to realize that it will be beneficial to change your eating habits and eat light foods. I was struggling with nausea for a while post op, and if I ever cave in and eat poorly I always pay for it! But I try my best to eat light and healthy foods, and this really seems to help the nausea.

I got my gallbladder removed 3 weeks ago. I've always been really healthy. Never sick. Then all of a sudden I was nauseous all the time. Every test came back normal. For 9 months no one knew what was wron . I was tested for ulcers, multiple blood tests, nothing. I had a scope put down my throat for further testing. Came back normal. Finally a gallbladder test was done. And I failed the test. I got it removed and I thought my nausea would go away. I had had some pain but nausea was my main concern. I felt like I was going to throw up every single day all day. 3 weeks after surgery and I still feel this way. The only difference is that I'm eating even less than before because my stomach just can't handle anything anymore. I have yet to throw up throughout this whole ordeal, but I have a barf bowl by my bed. I've had it there for 9 months. I just want to go back to being normal. I'm 19. I want to start college and live my life to its full potential. I don't want to have to worry about if I'm going to throw up all the time. I'm sick and tired of being sick. I'm sick of having to stay home every single day because I can't control the nausea. And my surgeon is so arrogant. He says it's normal and it will go away. Well I think he's wrong.

This is to the Physician,
Your post makes me hopeful that I will have relief. It has been 3 months since I had my gallbladder removed due to a 9% ejection fraction and severe reflux which caused ulcers. So far I have felt worse and have wondered if having this surgery was a huge mistake. I have nausea and diarrhea now, which I did not have before, and the reflux is no better. I am hoping that my body is still adjusting, but as my symptoms dont improve, I worry about what could be wrong with me.

I just had my Gall Bladder removed on 7/6/15. I have had a couple of good days, but I have several bad days which include nausea and of course feeling tired. I know it takes a while for you to recover from surgery even if it is not a large incision and especially from anesthesia. My surgeon told me that there is a 50% chance of feeling better and I told him I would take that. I have talked to others that tell me that they still cannot eat alot of certain foods, but right now I feel just as sick as before I had it removed. It is very frustrating to still be nauseated, but at least my BM's are more normal than before. I also had hernia surgery and this may have been part of my problem too. How are you feeling now? My Gastro doctor agrees with me that the Tami-Flu I took for the flu stirred up my Gall Bladder problems.

I had my gallbladder removed 5 weeks ago as well. My only symptom was always horrible nausea. I had the ultrasound and HIDA scan what show that my gallbladder was not functioning. I had nausea very little right after my surgery but now I have it frequently. Very extreme and very debilitating. I also do have been diagnosed with Barrett's esophagus. I'm not sure what the nausea is from now. The post say that many people still are experiencing the nausea after their gallbladder is removed. I make an appointment with my doctor and see if there is something that she might be able to do to help. The nausea is just horrible everyday to deal with. It makes life very difficult to just do the normal things that we all need to take care of the daily.

The reason you felt better when you were off the PPIs is because they prevent acid from getting in your digestive system to help your body digest your food. In fact, PPIs can lead to gallstones. Get off the PPIs and look up apple cider vinegar. Also, check out L-Plantarum and other probiotics.
