Howdy neighbor!
I had the same problem with being naseated most the time and hungry at others. I had a great suggestion from a friend that seems to have helped. I'm eating low fat (around 3 grams or less per meal) and when I can't, I try to remember to use digestive enzymes. It's really helped me and I hope it'll help others, too.

Sorry Physician but I am 15 months post operative and still experiencing nausea, fatigue, and dull back pain. My primary care physician kept putting me off so I went to my gynecologist. He ran all tests necessary to rule out gynecological issues and also ordered blood work. My liver enzymes are slightly elevated, so he was kind enough to refer me to a digestive disorders physician. I recently had an MRI to rule out a gall stone that may have gotten away during gallbladder removal. Don't have the results as of yet. Also having an endoscopy and colonoscopy in the near future to hopefully rule out anything serious. If that turns out to be the case I will be thankful, but in the meantime I have lived almost a year and a half with fatigue, nausea, lightheadedness, gerd, etc. I slept the winter away when I wasn't working. What convinced me to get help was a family get-together where there was a lot of food. Came home not feeling well at all. Went to bed and woke up at 3 a.m. with extreme nausea, and vomited food that was undigested. When I am hungry I don't feel well, and after I eat I don't feel well. There is comfort in knowing I am not the only one who feels this way, but I surely hope in time this subsides or I find out what I can do to make things better. As someone else mentioned, I too, suffer worse IBS symptoms since my surgery.

There are other factors for the nausea. I have been taking premarin; only to find out the estrogen shrinks the spinxter of the bile duct. I will see my GP for progesterone. Also sugar, over refined wheat, and diet soda are culprits.

I went into the ER with chest pains and came out without my GallBladder--- but the nauseated feeling everyday is just about driving me nuts, so I had to look it up---- to find its normal after surgery. Guess I have at least 5 months to go...ugh...oh well......

Not on any estrogen but have learned to eat low fat, less sugar, smaller portions and started taking omerapazole (spelling?) for acid reflux. The medication, exercise, and watching diet has made a big difference. Nausea is pretty much non-existent except when I over eat. I believe the medicine has gotten rid of the empty stomach feeling and acid reflux. I recently had an endoscopy which showed esophagitis and a biopsy was done. I am hoping that it comes back o.k. I have a great G.I. Disorders doctor. There is help. Don't wait until the acid reflux does damage. Good luck!

I am 2 years post gall bladder removal. I had to have mine out because it was paper thin. Just in the past month, every time I eat anything, I get nausea. I have not thrown up, but feel like it. Last time it lasted a few days, now it has been a week and I think I am almost better. I ate toast and felt like it wanted to come back up again. What is wrong????

I am going on my 5th week post opp. Still having the nausea and sour stomach. I have sort of a sorted story. The few days following surgery, i was hospitalized for 2 days with severe nausea and vomiting, and needed to be rehydrated via IV with a potassium line and fluids/vitamins. they thought it was an allergic reaction to the anesthesia. All kinds of tests were run, and everything looked "normal", no complications from surgery or anything like that. i came home and started to build myself back up slowly, with soft foods and liquids. then i started to gradually feel better. i then was able to eat pretty normally. then, about a week ago, i ate something i obviously cant eat any more (tater tots of all things) and got ill for the night. the nausea has continued threw since then. I too, am waiting to feel normal again. I get the anxious bouts all the time to the point of wanting to cry. i have a very amazing and helpful hubby, but also have 2 small children who require a lot of attention. I saw my GI dr yesterday, and he suggested i have a "slow digestion" and that i also may have come down with a bacterial infection in my tummy that is causing the stomach pain. Im taking antibiotics for the bacterial infection, and if that doesnt resolve it, ill be put on anti nausea meds twice a day until i can eat better on my own. Not excited... your post is over a year ago. did you find relief? are you better?

I had my gall bladder removed when I had a liver transplant about 2 1/2 years ago. I have been experiencing severe nausea for about 9 months. The rx they gave me isn't even working any more. Is this because I don't have a gall bladder? I'm getting scared because I am 5'3" and I weigh 88lbs on a good day. I can't afford to loose any more weight. Any advise?

I am on week three of post surgery for gallbladder removal...I have started feeling increasingly nauseous four days ago, it constant and unbearable at times. I would love to hear from all of these posts and if they have resolved for folks after a few months...I can handle this (barely) if I know it will eventually go away!

I had my GB removed 4 months ago, and everything seems fine so far except that I have loose motions every third day but I am not complaining about that because I had severe constipation before the surgery and was on laxative practically on a daily basis. The only issue I face now is nausea which just comes out of the blue whether or not I eat anything and it gives me a feeling I am going to throw up but i never vomit. The second issue is that I get a mild pinching pain in the same spot where the GB used to be and I was not sure if the whole pressure of throwing up does anything to the clips they close the open endings with. I did consult a surgeon again and he did a physical check up along with regular tests and he said everything is fine, surgery was perfect nothing and remained back....except for the nausea :( Guess its just a part of getting used to getting better with time. I do my Yoga, drink moderately and can digest moderate fats also, I lost 11 kgs post my surgery!
Feel better :)

I too thank you for honestly telling those of us who are experiencing nausea that it may take up to six months to start feeling better. It is scary thinking we are going to feel sick for the rest of our lives!
