Now isn't that weird? I too have this constant feeling of nausea, like I want to vomit, but nothing ever happens, and there's this thing in my throat that's affecting my nausea. I haven't had any problems with eating, though, so I haven't checked with a doctor. I first got this nausea after I healed from some kind of flu, and taking medication. The nausea, I know for sure, is not connected with eating or sleeping or anything like that. It passes in waves, or something like that. I feel fine for a few minutes, then it comes on I feel like I'm going to vomit, though I never do. It seems to increase in length when I stay in a room with air-conditioning. When I do feel nauseous, I feel like I'm drunk-like I can't walk properly-and usually have to stop and concentrate. I think eating actually helps to take away these feelings for a few minutes. I've had it for a few weeks now, and I still have to take final exams. I don't know what to do, and hope this won't happen during an exam.

Wow, I've been reading everyones problems and this sounds just like me! For years I have suffered from nausea and upset stomach and it sucks! When I was early teens, my Dr reccomended I have a barium swallow and sure enough they found an ulcer in my duodenum. I was given antacids and then tested positive for the H. pylori bacteria that causes ulcers, which was then treated with a very strong anti-biotic. A few years went by and was just OK but not %100 percent better and still suffered from occaisional nausea but never any vomiting (unless I had a flu)! When I was in my early 20's I contracted a parasite from eating fast food which made me extremely ill for about a year until we finally figured out what the problem was. After I was treated for the parasite I felt as if I had a stomach transplant and felt like a million bucks! A few years passed and then the stomach irritation began, and was so bad that I didn't even want to go to work. I had many tests done, blood, stool samples and even had a gastroscopy and that showed minor stomach inflammation, but other than that I was overall healthy. I swear, I was in the dr's every week and he probably thought I was some kind of nut job. No one understands unless they have experienced these problems. I was given a dose of vermox to kill any sort of parasite just incase anything came back from before. Then I started to feel slightly better, but not perfect. I feel like I have this problem and I don't want to go out because I'm afraid that I will start to feel sick. I live off of ginger ale and crackers. Just recently I started to experience nausea all the time, watery mouth, a feeling of preassure or fullness in my upper abdominal area/chest and a slight lump like feeling in my throat when I swallow. Now I have been googling and I seem to have almost all of the symptoms of a candida over load. So with all this being said, I am going to try and treat this and hope that it works...my wedding is in less than 2 months and I fear that I will feel ill on my wedding day and I really want to just enjoy myself! Enough is enough! something's gotta give because I can't live like this anymore. Good luck to you all and be persistan with your DR's!

I'd speak to a neurologist for the chronic nausea just to rule out a neurological problem as well.

My son has been having the same symptoms since March of this year after he had gotten sick with strep. He has had all the same tests done and everything has come back normal. He is now on an anti-depressent and currently seeing a psychologist. He is only 10 years old and it is really breaking my heart to see him go through this, I feel helpless. His health started to go down hill since he got strep. He started complaining of stomache pains as if he was being punched and then he began to say he felt like throwing up and to this day, even on an anti-depressent, still complains of wanting to throw up. I don't know what the problem is.... he went into panic mode and did not want to leave the house because he felt so sick. He lost 7% of his body weight and began to get dehydrated. Once I started taking him to a psychologist - his doctor seen the severity of his case and almost had him admitted for inpatient therapy. My son was starving himself. He was diagnosed with depression, anxiety and agoraphobia. My son doesn't like to leave home anymore because of the anxiety that he developed after the strep. I am so lost... I am just searching for some answers... so far we are just taking it a day at a time. The anti-depressant seems to help but he still continues to feel this way.....my heart goes out to all of you, i hope you all find some peace.

Acuguest I found your post on google. I have had globus hystericus for 7 years, and everything I have tried to fix it makes it worse, it’s the most crazy condition I have ever read about.
nothing works to get ride of it and everything feels blocked, emotions, hormones, energy, everything. It's like being in chains.
And your right the Dr have told me there is no cure. My condidtion is serve yet every test is perfect.
I was wonder do you just use acupuncture or do you use herbs as well?

I have had these same problems for about 2 years. I got really sick with ecoli one year, and ever since chronic nausea. I haven't vomited at all. I just feel like it all the time, and I dry heave. Nothing ever comes out. It is very uncomfortable. I started to think something was really wrong with me. They ran all the same tests on me. They did find a little gastritis, but nothing serious. I am also on prilosec, and I take nausea meds sometimes. They did say that since I was sick for so long that I developed anxiety from being sick so often. I feel the lump in my throat all the time, and I hate it. Nothing makes it go away. I have been taking clonazepam or clonophin, and that seems to make me feel so much better. These medicines are used for anxiety, so I recomend taking the anxiety medication. It does seem to help me alot. IT is so scary not knowing why we have these symptoms with no answers.

Hi, Im 16 and have had these symptoms going on 5 weeks now. Its caused me to miss that much school and my grades are dropping. I can't go to school feeling like this or i get worse. At first i thought it was acid reflux but when they did my endoscopy they found inflammation in my stomach so now i highly suspect it is bile reflux. Everyone on here should ask there doctor about it because thats what it sound like all of you have. Let me know if thats what it is.

Has anyone that has had these symptoms seem to find an answer? My father became sick with debilitating nausea in '09. He has had numerous tests: ct of head & abd, rhinoplasty and endoscopic sinus surgery thinking it was sinus drainage causing the nausea, galbladder removed and posterior hiatal hernia repair, all labwork normal and he's a very healthy 61 year old man who used to be extremely active but now lays in bed because sleeping is the only time he feels better. He's had egd's & colonoscopy that were normal. Mayo clinic closed his folder and told him they couldn't do anything for him. Zofran and phenergan don't help...he has adverse side effect of tremors to reglan because he has taken it for so long. anitibiotic therapy used to help for a week or so in '10 but now does not help. he takes percocet 5's 2-3 times per week because that is the only thing that seems to give him a tiny bit of relief. my father has lost 35 pounds because he has simply lost his appetite. if anyone has found any type of answer, please contact me. thanks

Two words for you all. Functional Dyspepsia. Usually caused by anxiety. The only way to lessen the symptoms, or get rid of them its a acid reducer, and some therapy, or some way to release your worries. Functional Dyspepsia is another version of Irritable Bowel Syndrome, but without the issues with your bowel movements. I hope this helps you all.

I'm sorry I can't tell you anything about what you have but I can tell you do NOT take tums! tums actually irritate stomach acid more and can cause barrett's esaphagus (or cancer) Try an over the counter antiacid.... 20 mg a day with ALOT of water!

I've been doing the exact same thing and its the only thing that helps me get through the day and sleep at night, I also suffer from anxiety and stress and find myself dry heaving throughout the day. Its sometimes hard to hold a conversation with someone because of the symptoms.

I too have all of the symptoms mentioned. I'm 51 and have suffered from this since my early teens. I've never got t the bottom of it but live in hope. It starts of being quite mild and by about day three everything I eat, smell or drink makes me feel sick although I never actually am. Then I tend to avoid food and even water. Please help!
