Hello, folks. My kid has been diagnosed with additive sensitivity. As far as I see, almost all food in the supermarkets has at least one additive my son is allergic to. I would need more information about FDA efforts on additive sensitivity. Can anyone tell me something more about this? I would be grateful.
Hi, there. I am afraid that the first step in treatment is avoiding additives that your son is sensitive to. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are trying to investigate which additives cause sensitivity within the majority of population. FDA will try to limit their use. They will also insist on putting all additives from one product on a label. That is why FDA’s Adverse Reaction Monitoring System (ARMS) is organized. This is set up for monitoring and dealing with customers’ complaints. FDA took an action against certain sorts of food and cosmetic additives. I hope this piece of info is helpful to you. Good luck!
