I got up with cramping in my right arm which has progressed to numbness during the course of the day. I am not pregnant. I was concerned that it could be something more serious. I am 36 years and I have not been exercising lately due to a long commute, a young child to care for and school. What could cause this. Please help, Very concerned.
Dear Ingmarie: I am wondering why you are bringing up pregnancy when you are talking about your numbness and cramping. If it is because that happened before when you were pregnant that is one thing. If you could elaborate a bit more I could put the picture together so to speak. In the mean time here are some reasons why women get numbness in the right arm:

Pinched Nerve, Hyrniated disc in the neck, rotator cuff injury, OR the big one signs of a heart condition (ESPECIALLY in women).

When I mentioned a heart Condition it is because Heart problems in women manifest themeselves COMPLETELY different then they do in men! We have learnt that a heart condition is pain and numbness in the left arm and up into the chin, where women usually have other pains and more pain in their back. Of course I am not saying this is what you have, just letting you know different signs of things. If you could tell me why you brought up pregnancy I can help you a bit further. Imust say though IF for one second you think it might be serious, please get some medical help. Sincerely bambi27
