I have been on a diet for 4 months now and I did manage to lose some weight, around 20lbs, although I didn’t stick to the diet every day but usually I did. The problem is that everything happened within first three months and then nothing. I am hopeless because I am not able to lose any more weight and I did so much hard work and I need to lose another 20lbs. Any advice?

Well, I would think that you have either reached weight plateau or that your thyroid gland stopped working properly and is not producing enough of the thyroid hormone that influences metabolism. Although I think weight plateau is more likely to have happened. Besides checking your thyroid hormone levels, you may decide to practice a so called ZIg-Zag technique in boosting your metabolism. Since your metabolism got used to your new calorie intake, it doesn’t realized it as reduced, so you would need to lower your calorie intake again. However, some experts believe eating your normal calorie intake for a few days and then reduced calories intake for the same amount of days would prevent your metabolism from stopping to work. I wish you good luck!
