I am 36, and just had the Nova Sure procedure plus a D&C done on January 28th, the first day was by far the worse, I was really sick to my stomach and cramped for about 8 hours straight. I am doing better now, spotting everyday, but nothing major. But... I have gained weight in just 4 days time, I am up almost 4 pounds, I wonder if this is just from the swelling and possible water weight!? Anyone else experiencing this?
I am a 29 year old mother of three. I always had "normal" light periods until I had my tubes tied three years ago and now they are horrible. I bleed more often in the month than not. All of my tests have come back "normal" and was going to have the novasure done in a few months but now I am too scared to do this. I have done a lot to get the baby weight off and have a major family history of diabetes. I don't feel that it would be safe to my health to gain 20 or so lbs. I am so glad that I read this before I had the procedure done. Thank you all for posting how what this has done to you. I don't think this is a smart healthy choice for me.
Has anyone checked their hormones since the surgery?
I had the procedure 02/07/13. We are all different but before the procedure, I was reading a lot on the internet about it and got scared and wanted to have it done under anesthesia but I would have had to wait even longer, so I went ahead with the procedure in my doctors office. Yes, it hurt a bit but it was over fast. I am so glad I didn't have it done in the hospital because it would have cost a lot and in my opinion, wasn't necessary. I wanted to post this because I had been afraid of not having it done under anesthesia because so many posts I had read. The decision is yours but wanted to share. I kept waiting for cramping or nasty smelling discharge. I worried about not being able to use a tampon just after the procedure, but the discharge amount wasn't as bad as I thought. Bottom line for me, I am glad I had the procedure even though I do not know yet if my periods are gone forever or even will be lightened.
I have been reading all the posts and im abit unsure weather to have novasure ,,,I go in on friday for mine plus a tubaligation.excuse the spelling..I had back surgery in oct last year and have gain 10kgs and havent been able to loose weight since ,,im blaming all the meds im on cos that surgery hasnt worked for me either,,So this weight gain things abit of a worry...What should i do???They wont give me a historectomy cos im not aniemic ...im 45 and havnt started going through change of life like my friends wonder if novasure will bring that on??
I had my procedure 2/12 and really noticing the weight gain. This post helped! I was reading all the weight gain post and I'm really concerned. I had the heavy bleeding , two blood transfusions and a D &C. So when the doctor told me about Novasure, i really didn't care about the side effects. I just wanted the bleeding to stop so i can have my life back. As those of you that suffered know, I too had to check myself and chair every time i sat on a seat and carried (overnight) pads in my purse to change, had several accidents and work and in public, depressed, refused to do any activities that involve going out and NEVER wore WHITE! I can't say I'm at the point of wishing I never had the procedure because it did save my life. It's 16 months later and NO PERIODS! I only use liners by choice! I will do the diet and exercise and see if that helps! HOPE IT works out for everyone!%-)
March 2014 will be a year since I had the procedure. My periods are down to a panty liner and last 2-4 days lightly. It feels funny trying to decide what type of pad to wear. What isn't funny is the weight that I have gained and my stomach/gut area looks hideous. At first I thought that me and my boyfriend we going out to eat to much, so we slowed to a crawl with that. The weight just keeps packing on, I had no idea that this procedure had anything to do with weight gain. I didn't see anything on it and my friend who got it before me didn't mention anything about weight. I thought maybe I'm going through perio-menopause stage. Even in my water weight my pants hung loose, not my stomach is hanging over and my pants are tight, wth.
Started working out and that doesn't seem to help. I Pray that my weight does go up any more. Feeling fat, bloated and Miserable. The extra cramping I can cope with but this weight gain is for the freaking Birds! :(
