I used to play football a lot about two years ago. Then I got job, so most of the day I was spending in my chair in front of the computer. I saw that will be bad for my health so I started to run. What worried me was that I have noticed my thighs are numb after this. I would like to know if there is some kind of nutrition, that might be cause of numbness, or there must be something else.
There are many reasons why thighs numbness may develop while running or any other activity. The most common reason for something like that would be compression neuropathy from tight. Sometimes we found cause in wearing of improper fitting shoes. There is also a problem called exertional compartment syndrome. This thighs numbness reason is related to swelling of a group of muscles activated during your physical activity. Off course, this can irritate nerves in the same area, which has consequences of thighs numbness. As you can see, there are so many reasons you might experience thighs numb. It could even be originating from your low back region, and not feet, possibly related to a disc problem. There is no need to panic because a numb thigh by itself is not usually a cause for alarm. However, you should pay attention if it persists or if it were associated with significant pain or weakness. If there is something else you might find as unusual, then I would recommend that you have a physician evaluate your situation as soon as possible.
