I asked my OB about the painful sensation under my right breast, and she explained it is ligament pain. The numbness I haven't asked ofr but I agree with others that it is probably the baby lying on some nerves or pushing them with her feer.
This feeling is so weird! I am 29 weeks and I've been feeling this for about two weeks. First under my right breast, now under the left! I am so glad we have forums like this to reassure us that nothing is wrong. I called my OB and they said with it not being where I am super stretching (being under boobs versus the belly) that it is strange and highly unlikely something to be concerned about. But alot of you have it in the same place, so I'm not crazy. :)
and now starting to worry as i have lots of symptoms now with my lower back, legs,, and shaking inside its horrible and still numb cannot touch my stomach at all its so horrible
It is actually baby pushing on some nerve. It is nothing to worry about as I am 33 weeks preganant and have experienced the numbness on my left side just near the rib cage. Please nothing to worry about. Congrats and may the good Lord richly bless you and grant you a safe delivery...
Thank goodness I found this site, I thought I was the only one! I've had pain under the right side of my ribs since week 22 (I'm 26 weeks now) and there's a numb spot at the same place. I asked my midwife and she seemed to have no clue what I was talking about and told me to "sit up straight". That doesn't help at all. The only thing that helps is lying down on my side. I wonder why medical professionals can't explain this, or at least offer some clues...
I had this with my first child and was never really concerned about it. I am now 35 weeks pregnant with my second and it is much worse this time. I asked my doctor what causes the numbness and she said it was my nerves that have stretched. Mine occurs on my right side at the top of my stomach just below my boob. If I do not rub it every so often it becomes extremely sore where the nerves/muscles have stayed in that expanded position for so long. By the end of the day it feels like bee stings. I often find myself resting my hand on the top of my stomach & pushing inward to relieve the symptoms.
