so over 4 years ago i had a lot to drink and met this gorgeous man while out with friends. i drank even more and ended up going to a hotel with him. we spent the night together..had sex multiple time without protection. i was recently divorced and had three teen children. this isn't/wasn't normal behavior for me..we spent the night together. the next morning he drove me to my car, we exchanged numbers.. that was it. he called me a few time however i felt very foolish and decided not to talk to him....7 weeks later i found out i was pregnant. the night i spent with him was my most fertile time...i know the child is his. i have his name buts its a very very common first and last name...i threw away his number and all his info..i just didn't want to deal with the hassle..now my daughter is 3 1/2 and i realize that i really want to be able to tell her who her father is... i know the hotel we spent the night at. perhaps they would have his info in the computer..so my question is.. is there a federal and/or state DNA database that you can just compare a childs DNA to.
There are federal and state DNA databases of people's DNA profiles, but you do realize that those are primarily DNA samples that are collected in some part of police investigations or other criminal cases. No one ever asked you to give your DNA sample just so that someone else can find you, there needs to be a justified reason for such things. And as far as the access to those databases goes, I'm not sure that they are dealing with request such as yours, you can read more here.
So, contacting the hotel and maybe cross-referencing the name of the man with the place you two where could give you some results. Maybe you can check with your phone provider if there is any chance that there is phone record, even though it's been this long.
