Hello, I am a 21 year old woman and I am about to have an oral surgery in a few days. I thought it was nothing, but I heard about this guy who went to get his wisdom teeth removed and died from anesthesia. They say it is an unexplained death. I am not so sure anymore about the surgery. Any words of wisdom?
These things are VERY rare. It's like one in a three hundred thousand. It is perfectly safe, and the only side effect which happens from time to time (5% of patients) is nausea. You don't have anything to vary about, and it is better to have an oral surgery then not to have one. I had one of my wisdom teeth removed last year because it hurt a little, and it hurt a lot after the intervention. I had to take pills like a junky next week. The only time it didn't hurt was when I was on anesthesia.
