I had orthognathic surgery about a year ago to correct an open bite, but since then I've had tmj pain. I have an internal derangement of the disc and none of the conservative therapies are working. I've tried the anti inflammatories and muscle relaxants and I am currently wearing a bite splint which isn't really working. I've tried arthrocentesis once but it only slightly improved the pain and the deviation, but I was still in braces at the time. It looks like my only options at this point are to try the arthrocentesis again now that I am out of braces and if that doesn't work a more invasive surgery to reposition or remove the disk.

Please help! Are there any other alternatives? :-(

Hi, my name is Flower. I'm having Orthognathic surgery in two weeks, but I found out today that I'm pregnant. I think I'm a month into it. Is this surgery too risky for my baby?
