I recently found out that I have ovarion cysts. I have never missed a period until this month. I have always used condoms, and my boyfriend and I check them and if we feel the need, change them throughout intercourse. We have not had any circumstances this month where we noticed anything that would worry me about pregnancy (no condoms breaking, I've checked each condom afterwards to make sure none got out.) I wanted to ease my mind so I took a pregnancy test. It had been about 12 days from when I was supposed to have my period when I took it, and it came out negative. I used ept. Then I took it again 3 days later (today) because I was freaked out that its the last day of February, meaning I had no period this month. I got a negative result, but I stared long and hard, and I cant tell if its my eyes playing tricks on me or what but in the round window where the horizontal line is there.... right above that line in the middle where the vertical one should start going upward, there are 3 tiny dots (the dots make up the lines in the horizontal line) and so I thought maybe this could be a sign of the vertical positive line beginning to form. I gave it more than the needed 2 minutes and nothing changed. I know the directions say any faded blue could be a positive but am I stretching the rules? HELLLLPPPPP! and could my cysts be causing my missed period, or could they be causing the ever so slight hcg detection?
This same thing happened to me with a ept and I still haven't got my period, what ended up with the results of yours?
I have four beautiful children two of which pregnancy tests came up negative until 10 weeks pregnant and everything on time. HCG levels may be low. Don't discount a negative test for nothing you may be suprised like we were!
I have the same problem - boyf and i were careful, no reason to suspect preg. When I was 13 days late I took a HPT and saw the faintest of vertical lines (to make up the +) - wasn't sure if eyes were playing tricks or if it was a faulty test. I have since done 2 HPTs and both negative. Have been suffering cramping and extreme tiredness. Going to the doctors tomorrow to see what they say as now worried there could be something wrong. What was the outcome of your situation?

YES!!! what the heck?? i took 2 of the one step pregnancy tests, much like EPT with the little cirlce window. 2 of them had those werid dots on the positive line, i'm 4 days late AND TTC, how'd everything work out?? did anyone get the dots and not be preggers?
ME TO i got a one step pregnancy test from family dollar today and i took it..I am 3 weeks late for AF and I got 2 dots on mine aswell my husband can see it too..anyone know whats goning on with that? is it a positive or a negative? ill post the link to my pic of my test here...

I have recently been told that I have an Ovarian cyst by my doctor. I then thought I may be pregnant so got a pregnancy test, on that test instructions I read that if you have ovarian cysts, it could cause a misleading result i.e. it could say positive when you're not.
The best thing to do is even if you can't afford it, get a reputable test (I used Clear Blue) it's well worth it for peace of mind and any possible positive result is best checked out by a doctor.

I too, just got the result with three little dots in the upper vertical position, just like the one in the photobucket picture above. I don't see any follow-ups to the situation above, so I will post my actual status in a couple of weeks so we can see if there is a connection.
I had this experience five days ago and my period came yesterday. I also called Clearblue and they called it an "evaporation line" . I need to understand it better from a scientific standpoint, but I was certain those three little dots were reacting to the pregnancy hormone in minute amounts... until I got the non-pregnancy confirmation of a monthly cycle.
I am experiencing the same dots above the horizontal line. Were you guys pregnant?
I bought the kit with 2 tests and i took the first one(which looked exactly like the one in the picture) during the day and it seem like a negative but had three little dots where the vertical line would be so i waited a week to take the second one n i used it with morning pee and it seem the same as the first except it had more dots at the top half of the vertical line and now had a dot at the bottom half so that made me more confused. It was hard to see if but was not so noticable unless you looked close or held it towards light. I decided to call their customer service number and all they said was that it was a positive no matter how faint it was and that if i was still confused to wait a couple more days n retest or to just go to the doc. so I made an app. for tomorrow. But as I was researching i came upon different answers and conclusion. so it could be you tested early but as long as there is something where the vertical line would be then hCG has been detected. But what I don't understand is that they keep sayin wait three days while your hCg doubles and I waited a week n it was practically the same just a couple more dots. so I'm still confused but hopefully i can find out for sure tomorrow.
Well I took 2 test. Clear blue and some other one. They both came out neg , but I havent started my period. I think its either because I am eating different or stressing....My friend took 2 pregnancy test ...One came out positive and one came out neg !!
i had cysts too...you have to be careful with that because on top of them effecting your period they can take your ovaries..i ended up having my cysts removed because I would have lost both of my ovaries.
