my surgery is 1.5 yrs out on having a colon resection and still having problems, in fact seem to be constant. Diverticulitis with rupture...had no signs previously until fell in classroom and flet something pop. Now, does not matter what I eat. I feel sick and lethargic most of the time. I do notice stress seems to make it worsen...I am HS teacher and no where close to retirement. I go to bed exhausted and wake up exhausted and bloated. Sometimes think the end of it all would be better.

I had over 18 inches of my colon removed during a Rectocele and Cystocele repair (everything fell down when I had the 4th child, and they were fixing it) Mesh included. Now 3 months out, I have that searing, burning, tearing sensation just to the left of my belly button. Walking makes it horribly worse. Thankfully, I don't hurt during my daily swim. I currently wear a back brace as a belly support, and that helps some, but hurts terribly when I take it off. I was hoping to find some positive feedback here, but I guess it is just another 'pain I have to deal with'. I also have fibromyalgia and arthritis everywhere. I was doing so much better before this surgery. I swam 1/2 a mile a day and was finally functioning. I am thankful I am not alone in this, but wish you all could be pain free. Prayers.

No I have not had another surgery since March of 2015. I have had three other surgeries and every time they take out adhesions. The last surgery way 1989 and this time there was a lot of them. They come back every time you have surgery and this time with a vengeance. The pain now never goes away a the pulling is worse than ever. I too have diarrhea which comes with my crohn's disease. The doctor gave me pain killers for it but that only masks the situation. He wants me to go and get an MRI. I had a ct scan in October and results show no acute inflammation, or obstruction so glad. But this other pain they don't know.If it is adhesions I guess will have to cope some how. On medication for crohn's Azathioprine and working for me with no side effects. Hope it continues. These adhesions can cause an obstruction also. My last one was from inflammation and obstruction. Don't know what to expect in the future.

I am going through exact same thing. Had my colon surgery Sept 28. And having a terrible weekend of the same pains. Dr's are very fustraing g to me. I went through a year of in and out of hospital pains. I had gyno issues as well. So had to have a laproscopic sugery. My gI surgeon was present and saw I was so much worse inside then all the cat scans and colonoscopy''s ever showed. Hence my colon resurrection sugery for diverticulitis disease. Going on 4 months with on and on pain and nausea. This pain this weekend is just like prior to surgery. It's fustrating and depressing. BE ON THE DR'S. EVEN IF THEY THINK YOUR FINE AND COMPLAINING ABOUT NOTHING!

I had surgery for appendix cancer, also called moas (the mother of all surgery.) and very rare cancer, it's been about a year and a half after surgery and my pain is so intense on my right side now. Had a lot of my bowels cut out among other things. I'm having so much pain I've had tests upper gi, cat scans, MRI, and the Dr.s can't find anything wrong. Test are normal. And it mostly comes on after I go to bed. It's insane how bad it hurts. The dr.s have me on a strong pain med Too. At the point the pain hits me the pain meds are useless. im trying to hang in there.

I know this sounds nuts, but I went to a physical therapist (specializing in pilates) and she worked on my scar that was quite crooked. I have a post incision hernia, too and after 1 hour, the scar tissue was so broken down, the bulge went from a duck egg size to a small lump. 3 weeks later, I can't believe the difference. We're working on building abdominal muscles. (Tonite, I'm having major gas pains and don't know if related to surgery 9 months ago..) But I so recommend seeing a pt , and no, my surgeon didn't think to refer.

I too had 12 inches removed and suffered for months with what you describe. I went to the physical therapist to re-build my core and it helped tremendously. I couldn't even roll-over in bed without stabbing pain. I recommend this to everyone on here - it is worth a shot. No more pain meds, sure I am sore, but it really helped - can't say it enough. Best of luck to everyone and give it a try.

I had a 12 in taken out after colon ruptured. Been almost five wks. Just started experiencing pinching, burning and pain to lower right of naval. Just after sitting. I had no real bad pain except I did get a bladder infection right after surgery. I'm just hoping it goes away! PLANET

Hello. I had a colon resection going on about 10 years ago due to diverticulitus where my colon had perforated in 2 places. After cutting out a 12 inch section, i stayed 2 weeks and went home. I have since developed a hernia right at my belly button incision, and my git is always hurting and feels hard as a rock and is distended. Its easy to touch it and feel it isnt fat, but hard swollen guts. I have now had 2 colonoscopies, where the doctors found nothing. I have been to doctor after doctor, and none of them believe me, or are willing to help figure out whats still wrong. They refuse to give me anything for pain. It hurts so bad i have had to quit truck driving after 16 years, give up my CDL, and go into the security business. I can no longer stand for long periods of time, and my gut hurts constantly on both sides. Even doing nothing but walking properties, my gut hurts so bad i cant hardly stand it. It wakes me up at night and makes me curl into the fetal position. Nobody knows or will take the time to figure it out and help me. Im only 38 years old now. Im not really ready to die yet. Its gotten so bad, and ive gotten so desperate for help, that i have searched and searched the internet, and found myself here. I wish i could help you, because i know where youre at. It is pure hell. It comforts me a little to see there are others who are experiencing the same thing. Maybe together we can find a way to get some help or relief. Im aleays tired, lethargic, sickly feeling. Im 6ft 4 285lbs, and i feel like im 600 lbs. Im not in bad shape, and the only fat looking part of my big athletic build is my gut. You can feel a little fat at the bottom, but the rest is swollen guts. I have to admit, im more than a little worried.
