Just about two months ago I had surgery on my RIGHT shoulder for bone spur removal and impingement syndrome. Had the nerve block after which doc ok'd, but didnt give me so I had to fight with the nurses to make sure it was done. I just started physical therapy two and a half weeks ago. The heat and ice are effective very temporarily. Thing is it's almost 9 weeks post op and I'm almost still just as much in pain as I was almost prior before surgery. Limited mobility although maybe slightly improved. Should I really be in this much pain this long after surgery. It starts from the incision on the front of my shoulder and the one back and sometimes radiates down my arms. Having a terrible time sleeping, often wakes me up quite a few times at night. to make things worse, two weeks after my surgery I fell down a few outside steps and went to e.r. E.r. doc said it was just a sprain and had the balls to ask me "how are you gonna get around" (because I wasn't allowed to use crutches)....needless to say he sent me home with two pain pills and 1 crutch. LoLol needless to say I went to my doc who performed the shoulder surgery and that's when he saw the two broken bones in my foot. He dumbfounded cause he couldn't give me crutches or walker and my apartment is not very wheelchair accessible. So he ended up casting it.
Guess my point is, is that I'm a little over two months And still in excruciating pain most of the time and that's with pain meds. Pt isn't even trying to help with pain relief anymore, just trying to get my mobility back. Doc doesn't understand why I'm still in so much pain and PT thinks it may have something To do with the scar tissue that formed. Regardless he is hesitant and sometimes won't give me prescriptions to get through my days and nights
Any thoughts as to why I'm still in so much pain? could it be from the scar tissue, or perhaps maybe another surgery in the future. Any help would be resourseful and welcomed. thank you :)
