My 5 year old is suffering with these symptoms uti positive then negative constantly needing a wee painful on weeinv could this be the same thing?
Hi, i've experienced very similar issues as a lot of readers. Mine started when i had sex with a woman and i immediately felt like something crawling up my urethra. I know she at least had a yeast infection because i had oral with her and got yeast in my throat. I was treated with Nystatin oral and tested and given cipro in case of STD. No STD was found and I went through many more antibiotics because i kept complaining about the urethral sensation. Well, two years later i saw a urologist and the effect/sensation in my urethra was coming from my prostate being slightly irritated/enlarged. The urologist gave me doxycycline (a tetracycline family antibiotic) and it worked wonders. I was brought to my knees with discomfort and pain prior to the doxy....i took it daily for over two years because the few times i tried to stop the pain and discomfort came back. There was no infection/disease to treat, he said the doxy just works for some reason. I have since stopped taking it and everything appears to be around 98% effect free. I have been asymptomatic for a couple years now.....hopefully i don't experience anything like that again. I hope this helps someone....
So I've suffered from 3 UTI'S this year and have the same symptoms now and I went to the ER and they took blood samples and urine sample and even a pelvic exam but was told all the tests came back clear so I don't know what to do
Have you heard from your doctor?
Hi all,
I found a solution that seems to be working for me! I have to admit I was astounded by this thread...I only read the first page (and not the subsequent 28 pages) so apologies if the issue has already been addressed.
After reading your posts and realizing there was no 'solution' to urethral tract pain after a UTI has cleared (I had a nasty one this past January that lasted 21 days and required two rounds of antiobiotics), I set off to figuring out my own answer. I decided that something had structurally changed in my urethral tract, like maybe inflammation or scarring, not sure what. But it felt like my urethral tract had maybe shortened, or was being pinched somewhere, like a water hose that gets twisted and blocks water from flowing. So I started doing some mini physical therapy on myself to try and 'stretch' my urethral tract back into position: 1) I forced my stomach outward the way you do when you're trying to make yourself look fat in the mirror; 2) then arched my back slightly, trying to stretch out my tract as much as possible. (You can feel it when you're doing it right.) I've done this 'stretch' a couple of times in the past two days and my discomfort has reduced significantly...am actually hoping it's completely gone but who knows, might have to do these stretches long term. Good luck to you all and thanks for sharing your experiences!

Hi all, I've been dealing with the same issues. I'm still in the midst of getting healed. But I have to urge all of you to get a test done that tests for ureaplasma. This is a small bacteria that won't show up in a normal culture and it lacks a cell wall...this means that normal antibiotics won't work to cure it. They are opportunistic bacteria. If you can convince your doctor to test for this it could be crucial to figuring out your pain. If not, there are private labs you can send your urine to.
Hope this helps! My urine came back very high for ureaplasma and I am currently taking arithromycin to try and get rid of it.

Did you ever find an answer? I am dealing with something very similar!
This sounds like what's happening to me. It started only about 2 months ago the first time went away. I went to Dr. Thought I had a yeast infection gave me antibiotics but this second time once again after sex immediately the next day I'm urinating lots I mean 2 times every hours almost, throbbing sensation after pee comes out. And mild tingling. I will contact my gynecologist as she said I just had s yeast infection and gave me some cream for 3 days. But it's not doing anything for this throbbing sensation!!! It's driving me insane I'm feeling hopeless
Hey there , I see you were getting a UTI or UTI feelings during ovulation . Does this still happen to you ?
I have had Interstitial Cystitis for 15 years now, I even wrote a really good book, so I have been told, but living with this disease for so many years I know that disease inside and out pretty much, but do know that everyone with the disease have different symptoms and will go through different stages of it, but I have pain all the time. The book that I wrote is called Living with Interstitial Cystitis, From One IC patient to another. It is an e-book and is on Kindle. I am not an Author, but have lived a horrible life with this devastating disease, and so badly wanted to get it out there. I raised 6 children with this. It also talk about the facts about the disease, the different types of treatments, and how those treatments are done, and also the severity of it, and things that you can do to lessen the pain if that is possible. I have a very severe case of it. In fact a doctor told me that if there were a poster child for IC I would be it, because my bladder was so bad. I also talk about some of the horrific things that have happened having this disease with others, and in the doctor field. It also talks about other diseases that may come with it. If you get a chance you may want to read it. You are so so right, never drink Cranberry Juice, that put me in the hospital, and I talk some about diet also in my book. I had the interstem and everything. I do not make a lot of money from my book what soever, but just wanted to get the word out there so that others can look into what we go through. I urinated one day 150 times. Well that frequency had me on the toilet that many times. Anyway I love to talk to others with the disease. We have to get the word out so they may soon find a cure. Thank you for letting that poor girl know not to drink Cranberry juice. Certain chocolates also, and coffee, tea soda. Would love to speak with you again sometime.
If you get a chance please read the book "Living with IC, From One IC patient to Another." It is a wonderful book and not too long, but gives a wealth of information on it and some of the horrific things that have happened in the doctor field and the suicidal tendencies of it.
Hi there, I'm 17 years old and have been suffering with these symptoms for almost 3 years. It started off as a series of UTI's that gradually would not go away. I would be tested for infections but nothing would show. At the start I found it so hard to walk for too long or sit for too long. Being I was at school at the time, I missed a lot of education and when teachers asked why, I didn't know what to say. So I believe everyone on this post has suffered with almost a dull ache constantly in their urethra 24/7? It often stings to pee? and holding in urine is also very painful? I also understand that most of us suffer from infections almost every single time we have sex? I'm trying to find a solid list of symptoms we have all suffered. Anyway I have had a kidney ultra sound, cytscopy and several blood/sti tests over 3 years showing nothing. I have also had vaginal exams which have also shown nothing. Being 17 it is a very invasive thing I have had to deal with and after suffering with depression it is very hard to stay positive. However over the years I have found some very useful tips to try and numb or suppress the pain! 1) Heat is your best friend, by taking a hot bath or placing a water bottle between your legs I have found it really heps sooth the pain! It may take about 45-60 minutes to work but honestly it's brilliant! 2) DRINK, drink water hourly. I constantly take a bottle of water with me everywhere just to sip on every couple of minutes. 3) Bother the doctors/hospitals as much as you can! This pain is not imaginary! This pain is not fake! You are a patient and they should do everything in their power to hep you get back to being you. 4) Reduce alcohol intake and acidicy foods. I have found over the last three years that increase the acid concentration in my urine makes the pain worse so by staying away from things like, orange juice, certain fruits, and alcohol it helps massively. 5) Now when you get the pain, it kinda starts like a little niggle then erupts into this massive burning, sensation, so I want to run through what to do. Firstly try to relieve pressure form the urethra by lying down. Secondly take nice deep breaths and try to relax all your muscles. Thirdly jug water like its alcohol XD Fourthly, place a hot water bottle between your legs or on your abdomen or you could even take a hot bath. Fifthly, distractions! read a book, watch TV, play a game, I know it's hard because my concentration decreases when I'm in pain but just try. Sixthly, remain positive!!!! Do not let this get to you, we will find out what is wrong with us, and we will fix it! You are amazing and a survivor. We are strong women who sadly shouldn't have to deal with this. But we are not going to sit there and cry! We can do this
Now I have been on a short dosage of long term antibiotics which has helped massively! I would really suggest it to your doctors as it keeps infection away whilst you deal with the pain in your urethra. It's helped massively. I think that's all I can think of for now, but please if you have any idea what this is or any other ways to help fix this problem please get in touch. Thank you.
Hello everyone. I got the same problem. I have been sneaking to the doctor's for years thinking I contracted an std and whenever I get checked it comes back negative. However, I have to get antibiotics to get rid of the symptoms.
I have the SAME exact symtoms as all of you, especially yours. Did you ever figure out what was wrong? I went to ER and they said the UTI was gone, but I still pee a lot, and have pain when. Sit awhile, and when I bend over. It's very unnerving! Anyone please help
