Initially, this pain would come and go. Eventually though it became severe and constant. I thought I had urethritis but was treated with two rounds of antibiotics with no improvement. Also, I saw an Urologist who felt it was Interstitial Cystitis and so I had several bladder instillations and began taking Elmiron. Things only got worse. The cystoscopy found no apparent problems. A check up by the gynecologist caused even more (excruciating) pain later that night and for many days after. The check up was normal. I have seen several neurologist as well. Seven PTNS treatments have slightly reduced the pain but not sure. I'm taking Lyrica at night and now Cymbalta (30mg) during the day. No luck yet. I've not had sex with my fiance for 4 of the 5 months that we have been engaged. I think it's in my cervix - what can I ask the doctors to do next????? I can't stand the constant pain.
