Hello,

The symptoms you describe are exactly the same as what I have been having. I've been suffering for years and doctors keep saying they can't see a lump and that I just need to do more exercise.

But this definitely isn't the case! I can see and feel the lump and so can my partner. I have a desk job which doesn't help but I am active at the weekends and do plenty of stretches throughout the day.

Severe pain in lower back which radiates down my legs. It also feels like there is a trapped nerve in my hip because of it. My back and buttocks often feel a little numb and the whole area seizes up after being sat down (which is every day as I have a desk job.)

I've been for an xray and an ultrasound and apparently they are clear but there is definitely something there!! This pain is not normal. I'm only 25 and I feel like an old woman.

Can anyone advise how I should approach the doctors in order for them to take it more seriously??

We're talking back pain not pain on our backsides. Pilonidal cysts cause superficial dermal pain but not backaches.

I have the same issue I seen my PCP who then did and MRI and sent me to pain management for disc disease and when I saw my pain management doctor and informed about the lump under the skin on my left lower back he told me I had SIJ. Look it up it maybe what I have I am on pain killers which help but what I like most is the steroid injection it gives me complete relief for weeks at a time

So I got into an accident and have been seeking therapy. Today I was walking around a lot more than usual, my back started to hurt. It was so bad I had to take my pain pills. I bent over and felt a lump. I could move it around, it hurt. Everytime I breathed id have a stabbing pain on top of a constant pain. I told my doctor this and he just said it a muscle thing said massages would make it better, its been there still the same since the accident. I have six lumbars. My father has a herniated disk and felt around my back and said it feels like his, I have a very high pain tolerance but this I could barely tolerate. What can I do for relief or ask my doctor about? Should I see a better doctor or no? Its about 2 to 4 inches above my hips or mid lower back. I am a 18 year old female.
