my clitoris is very itchy and sometimes gets a burning or stinging feeling. i have no discharge and no bumps, and it does not hurt to pee. i went to the dr for painful urination and irritation 2 years ago and was diagnosed with herpes, but never experienced any symptoms or outbreaks again. i dont think this is one because i have no bumps present (last time it just looked like razor burn to me...) and no discharge makes me think it isn't a yeast infection. plus, the pain is only in my clit and not any surrounding areas. the tip is especially sensitive and itchy. this is getting unbareable...keeps me up at night, burning or itching pain stikes every few minutes....
i used some anti-itch cream but i dont think it worked... a hot cloth felt good also. what should i try? get meds for herpes? creams/ointments....? help!
If you did have herpes and were diagnosed via a culture or PCR it is possible that you could have a phenomenon called post-herpetic neuralgia. This is because the herpes virus remains dormant in the spinal cord and can cause a burning sensation even if there are no symptoms. The only treatment is pain control with over the counter topical anesthetics such as vagisil.

I had the same problem years ago and kept being treated for Thrush. Turns out it was nothing but eczema and eumovate did the trick.
